Tutu Tuesday in Denton
It’s that time of the week again – Tutu Tuesday! Time to unleash your inner ballerina (or your inner disco diva!), shimmy in your sparkly tights, and let your tutu take centre stage. 💃
I’ve been seeing some seriously fab #tututuesday looks on Insta, so it’s only fair I spill the tea on how Denton rocked it last week! If you’ve been thinking about jumping on the #tututuesday bandwagon, keep scrolling….
It was my best friend Mia who dragged me down to the Denton Markets to experience Tutu Tuesday. “It’s totally gonna be the next big thing!” she’d exclaimed, throwing a pink sequined feather boa at me like it was some sort of sacred offering. Mia’s always been on top of the latest trends - a true style queen! I know she has an insane obsession with the colour pink and that she’s currently re-watching a 70’s disco marathon so I kinda thought she was pulling my leg, but I’m always up for a bit of fun… The markets were heaving, with everyone going wild about… well, *tutus*. The energy was so contagious! It felt like everyone had come to channel their inner prima ballerina, complete with perfectly sculpted buns and expertly applied winged liner. 🤩
As I meandered through the vibrant stalls, I was mesmerized by the sheer diversity of styles on offer. We saw it all – classic romantic tutus for the true ballerinas; fierce and sassy tutus in every shade imaginable for the fearless fashionistas; even some daring and outrageous creations that made me do a double take. My favourite? A stunning powder pink tulle tutu, completely custom-made, with a hand-painted disco snail! Absolutely stunning and just about the perfect illustration of the #discosnail. I knew instantly I had to snag it. 💖
If you're considering trying out Tutu Tuesday, here are my top tips:
- Choose the right tutu for you. Don't be afraid to be bold. From voluminous powder puffs and ethereal romantic looks, to statement layered tulle, short & sassy, and even mini, there is something to suit every personality and occasion! 💖
- Mix it up. Pair a tutu with a chic crop top, a crisp white tee, or a playful graphic t-shirt. Be daring – go for statement jewellery and add in bold shoes, boots or sandals - experiment with different lengths and styles and textures, for a more street-style look. It’s really about finding what suits your personality and vibe!
- Get your friends on board. You've heard of “squad goals” – get your squad together for some epic group shots, or simply have fun with each other while rocking out your tutus and experimenting with makeup! #tututuesday is really all about embracing self-expression and finding your happy place through fashion!
