Tutu Tuesday in Wishaw: A Celebration of Sparkly Sass

Hello, my lovely dancers and fashionistas! It’s your girl, Grace, back with another blog post, and this time, we’re taking a trip to Wishaw, a town that's just bursting with #tututuesday vibes.

I’m all about expressing myself, and there's no better way to do that than by rocking a dazzling tutu. From the classic romantic tulle to the playful, poufy tutu skirt, there's a style for every personality, and honestly, let's face it, they just make you feel fabulous.

So, how did Wishaw get swept up in the tutu whirlwind? Well, it all started with a little shop called "The Dance Studio" run by the lovely Mrs. Campbell. This charming woman has been spreading her passion for dance for decades, and she's not just a fantastic instructor; she's a champion of everything #tututuesday. It all began with a simple idea. To inspire local dancers and dress up their weekly ballet classes with a touch of flair. Mrs. Campbell even has a collection of stunning vintage tutus – absolute treasures that ooze elegance, history and sparkle.

This charming idea blossomed into an entire community affair. It’s incredible how this town has embraced Tutu Tuesday. Now, every week, young dancers (and some not-so-young) arrive in their shimmering tutus, ready to twirl their way through the day. It’s a beautiful spectacle of joy, friendship, and, let's face it, some seriously cool dance moves!

It’s more than just tutus, though. The residents have brought their A-game with #discotutu outfits that take this trend to a whole new level. I spotted one lovely woman wearing a shimmering sequined dress, and her little girl matched her with a mini tutu. The dance studio itself is decorated with disco balls and the windows are adorned with glittery hearts – a definite nod to the disco spirit.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: tutus? disco? Sounds a bit OTT. And it’s true, sometimes I do go a bit overboard with the glitz and glam. But here’s the thing – it’s all about having fun. I’m talking about wearing that sequin shirt with confidence, putting on those shimmering tights that make you feel like a princess, and getting lost in the moment while dancing your heart out!

I mean, it's all in the name of #discotutu – a mix of fashion and disco magic. And let's not forget our honorary disco mascot, the #discosnail. Don't know what I'm talking about? Just wait and see! I saw the most incredible nail art. Each one decorated with tiny rhinestones that literally shimmer and sparkle. The artistry and creativity put my usual disco nail designs to shame.

Oh, and speaking of my dancewear obsession: Let’s talk about these stunning tutus. The Dance Studio is stocked with a fabulous range:

  • Romantic Tulle: They have classic romantic tutus in delicate colours, ideal for ballerinas wanting to evoke elegance. I saw a stunning lavender one with silver ribbons that brought the vintage ballerinas back to life.
  • Pouffy Tutu Skirts: These come in a myriad of colours and lengths, perfect for twirling and dancing with boundless energy. From neon pink to iridescent turquoise, they were seriously cute.
  • Vintage Inspired Tutu Dresses: Let's not forget the timeless charm of these elegant little black numbers that bring a sophisticated air to any ballet class or tutu party.
  • Custom Designed Tutus: My absolute favourites are those custom designs - just think of all the opportunities! You can create something totally unique and embody your personality. Mrs. Campbell herself will help you create a design just right for you - and let me tell you, the designs are to die for.

There's something incredibly special about #tututuesday. I left feeling inspired, motivated, and, of course, seriously fashionable. The whole experience was truly unforgettable. It reminded me of how dance can connect communities, build friendships and, importantly, let us all unleash our inner #discotutu queen.

So, next time you see a #discosnail, think of Wishaw! If you are looking for some dancing fun with a twist of glam, go pay them a visit. You won't regret it. You might even discover your inner dancing diva.

Grace out!
