Tutu Tuesday in Cambridge - Disco Fever Strikes the City!
It’s a Tuesday, which means…it's #Tutuesday! And here in Cambridge, we’re all about taking the trend to the next level. This week, my lovely dance friends and I have decided to celebrate our love for twirling and dazzling with a special twist – a disco-inspired tutu extravaganza!
Now, when it comes to tutus, we all know the classic, billowing, romantic styles – the quintessential image of ballerinas on stage. However, for this #tututuesday, we're channeling our inner disco queen, shaking off the cobwebs and getting groovy in the streets of Cambridge!
From shimmering, multicoloured tutus that evoke the spirit of the 70s dance floors, to sparkly, sequin-encrusted creations perfect for hitting the club (we have to represent Cambridge's incredible nightlife after all), there’s no shortage of #discotutu inspiration here.
And while we were on a major tutu frenzy, some of us even experimented with DIY tutu creations - crafting and repurposing old fabrics, sequins, feathers, and rhinestones! We turned a simple fabric store into a tutu paradise with our enthusiastic bursts of glitter, and the whole shopping centre was buzzing with disco tunes!
This vibrant tutu fusion definitely grabbed some attention in the streets, bringing laughter and smiles to faces. Our own "tutu train" in the heart of the city brought Cambridge to a standstill for a brief disco frenzy!
But the best part of our #tututuesday was not only embracing the freedom and joy of expression that comes with wearing a tutu – it's about that incredible camaraderie of a community sharing their passion for all things dazzling and fun. We truly were a "tutu squad" ready to bring Cambridge a bit of disco magic.
Oh, and how could I forget to mention our unofficial mascot - the Disco Snail. This legendary shell-shocked mollusk decided to join us for a "disco slide", bringing the most charming (and slowest) #discosnail performance ever to Cambridge streets. Now, that’s something we’re all gonna remember!
