Tutu Tuesday in Walsall #tututuesday
Okay, so I'm a bit of a Tutu Tuesday addict, you guys. It's officially my favourite day of the week! I love slipping into a tulle masterpiece, feeling like a graceful swan, and strutting my stuff, but with a little bit more of a disco flair (you know me!) #tututuesday #discotutu
Last week, I hit the streets of Walsall, ready to sprinkle a bit of sparkle onto the town. But this time, I had something extra special planned, something I've been scheming over for months... I'm talking a **Tutu Disco Challenge**. That's right! I gathered some amazing ladies (and gents, too!), put on a dazzling pink sequined number, a bouncy fluffy tutu and got ready to celebrate #tututuesday in true disco style. #discotutu
And did Walsall deliver? Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! There were tutus of all shapes and sizes - classic and simple, colourful and quirky, and some truly dazzling disco delights that just screamed 'Saturday Night Fever!' There was the shimmering **champagne tutu**, the **billowing butterfly tutu**, the **classic romantic pink** - you name it, Walsall had it. I had never seen such a gleeful explosion of tutus before. It was absolutely glorious!
But it wasn't just the tutus that stole the show, though let’s face it, those pretty fluffy little delights were absolutely essential to the festivities!
Here are some highlights:
- The **'Disco Snail' #discosnail** was a sensation! Let's just say it was the talk of the town for hours. If you haven't heard about the disco snail, prepare to be blown away - picture a giant snail, lovingly decorated with disco balls, glittering rhinestones, and enough pink to make your head spin! This incredible piece of moving art strutted down the High Street to a backdrop of 70s disco tunes. Seriously, it was like stepping back in time! It put a smile on everyone’s face, including my own, let me tell you!
- We also had some awesome **dance battles**! The energy was off the charts, and there were so many talented people showing off their dance moves. You could tell they were having a ball. The air was electric! I joined in, of course, trying to out-disco the others with a few funky steps, and some glitzy spinning. My sequins, they twinkled in the sunlight... let’s just say I turned some heads, in the most charming way, of course!
- There were some incredibly **creative costumes**, too. The only rule of this challenge was: there are no rules. People came dressed up as disco divas, superstars of the era, with everything from feathered hats, shiny mirrored sunglasses to glitter platform boots and flares. You know I adore the bold, fun, vibrant, disco style and it was all about having a great time! Everyone, it seemed, had gotten into the spirit. The atmosphere was vibrant and happy, so refreshing.
And you know what? It wasn't just the amazing outfits, the music or the vibrant spirit. What made this Tutu Tuesday really special was the way the community of Walsall really embraced the spirit of the challenge. The sense of joy and togetherness was truly inspiring!
The thing is, I don't just do this for fun, though, you know I have my fair share of fun, for sure. You know what I mean? I'm passionate about how ballet can make people feel. You don’t have to be a professional, or know how to do a pirouette, to feel the magic of a Tutu Tuesday. There’s a reason it’s become my absolute favourite day. Ballet is about expressing yourself, having a bit of fun, and connecting with others, even through a little bit of whimsical ballet-inspired fashion and a few disco grooves!
What can I say, I'm a tutu girl through and through! If you ever want to add a bit of **'Tutu Tuesday Magic'** to your life, you're more than welcome to join me next time I hit the streets of Walsall, or better still, have your own **Tutu Tuesday Disco challenge** in your town! We can all take inspiration and learn from each other’s creativity. It’s like the more we spread our dance wings and feel that tutuy sparkle inside us, the more the fun will ripple out, and touch the world, bit by bit!
That’s what Tutu Tuesdays is about - a reminder that the little things, the ones that spark joy and get your soul dancing - those are the things we need more of. And believe me, in Walsall last Tuesday, the joy was contagious!
Here's to spreading the **#tututuesday** joy all around the world!
