Tutu Tuesday in Paignton: A Disco Delight
Oh, my darlings, It's Tutu Tuesday in Paignton! This seaside town is normally known for its picturesque harbour and Victorian charm, but today, the vibe was all about shimmering sequins and fabulous twirls. #tututuesday #discotutu
The air was buzzing with excitement as soon as I arrived, my pink-hued heart thumping with anticipation. I, of course, dressed the part – a pink and white fluffy tutu, matched with a dazzling silver top and glitter-bombing heels. Nothing says “let's disco” like a little tulle and sparkle!
The scene was electric - people had pulled out their most fabulous, most flamboyant, most tutued-out attire. From classic, elegant tutus to cheeky and short mini tutus, every style was present, every shade of rainbow represented! There were even a few disco-inspired snail costumes around! How wonderfully eccentric - perhaps I need a pink disco snail to match my wardrobe for next Tuesday? #discosnail
I bumped into my lovely friend, Sophie, who'd rocked up in a magnificent silver sequinned tutu and matching sparkly gloves. She looked divine, so I took a few snaps for the 'gram - gotta showcase that fabulously fabulous look! We caught up with other Tutu Tuesday regulars and exchanged enthusiastic “Well, you look amazing!" compliments. It's the Tutu Tuesday energy, you know – it makes you feel like anything is possible and sparkles are everything.
The heart of Tutu Tuesday is at the The Palace Hotel. It's the most glamorous spot in town. It’s an iconic landmark with grand ballrooms perfect for showing off your dance moves. There was a fantastic 70's DJ playing classics and everyone was busting a move on the dance floor - twirling, boogieing, and showing off those moves! I tried out the “grapevine” with Sophie, which felt extra-fabulous in a tutu.
Tutu Tuesday isn't just about the tutus, darling! It's also about celebrating individuality, spreading happiness, and a little touch of ‘80s magic in everyday life! The energy is infectiously joyous. Seeing everyone so happy and confident in their own unique style – it's simply heartwarming.

- The People: The locals and the visitors were all enthusiastic and genuinely joyful about the day. Everyone was eager to strike a pose and have their photo taken – which made it super fun.
- The Music: The music was phenomenal - a brilliant 70s playlist featuring hits we all love to dance to. The music definitely got everyone in a disco spirit!
- The Location: The Palace Hotel was absolutely perfect! It’s the ultimate setting for a glamorous disco party - with spacious dance floors and enough room to let your Tutu Tuesday sparkle.
