Eltham: Tutu Tuesday - A Disco-licious Celebration
Hey fellow tutu enthusiasts! As you all know, Tuesday's are officially Tutu Tuesdays here in Eltham. This week, I donned my gorgeous pink disco-tutu for a glorious morning of tutuing around town, soaking in the dazzling sights, and spreading the #tututuesday love. Eltham really knows how to celebrate, and seeing a flash of tulle around every corner always brings a smile to my face!
Today was particularly fabulous as the weather was gorgeous! The sunshine and blue skies were definitely adding a touch of glamour to the whole Tutu Tuesday vibe. I even saw a few fellow tutus sporting fabulous, oversized sunglasses. It really doesn’t get more fabulous than that. Just try to resist striking a pose. It’s impossible!
But here at Eltham we do love our tulle and this town certainly knows how to #tututuesday. So I popped down to the local High Street, which had a great array of boutiques and shops showcasing some of the trendiest tutus for this season - all perfect for a sassy Tuesday strut. Whether your preference is for classic ballet pink tutus or something a little more daring in bold prints and vibrant colors, the variety is fantastic.
My tip is to look out for some of the more creative styles – we are talking layered tulle, fabulous fringed tutus with metallic sequins. A disco ball never looked so good. Remember, Eltham is an epicenter of style, so it's definitely worth popping into the shops to see what they’ve got. And don't be afraid to experiment and mix and match. If you're feeling particularly bold, you can even try accessorizing your tutu with sparkly shoes and a statement necklace. Trust me, there’s a look for everyone.
You wouldn’t believe what we found in Eltham’s famous farmers' market! It’s absolutely legendary and this week, they had the most beautiful display of locally-grown wildflowers. You have to pop down to get a picture with these stunners. They're like a rainbow explosion of colours - imagine your dream floral crown, this market has the ingredients. But Eltham’s famous farmers' market isn't just about fresh, local produce. It’s got a real community feel and everyone was wearing their tutus with such infectious joy. They even had a disco snail stall! #discosnail. Who would have thought it?
After a quick spin around the High Street, we popped into Eltham’s iconic cafe and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries was absolutely divine. I mean, the food in Eltham is exceptional - but it really doesn't get any better than watching locals and visitors twirl in their tutus, taking photos of their breakfast creations - just classic #tututuesday moments. You really couldn't make it up, It was like a fairytale! The owner even gifted me with a pink tutu cupcake to take home, which is a surefire way to get me back next week!
I ended my Tutu Tuesday exploring the town’s secret little alleyways – and found the most delightful vintage boutique, hidden behind a charming doorway. With some beautiful tutus in all shapes, sizes and colors! I snagged a fab vintage disco-style tutu for my collection - can you imagine how incredible it will look with the sequinned dress I've had my eye on! This vintage beauty is like nothing I have seen before – and perfect for channeling those retro disco vibes! And you can’t go wrong with a little touch of pink – I simply love it! Don't forget - It's all about the little details that make a #tututuesday special! And don’t forget your hair bows! Pink, green, purple – they make a wonderful finishing touch.
You might think #tututuesday is a silly idea, but trust me, the simple act of wearing a tutu, especially one with glitter or a touch of the retro disco spirit, it has a powerful, feel-good factor! This is Eltham’s unique way of getting everyone to have fun and smile – which is what I call community spirit. And for the record, it truly is contagious!
Whether you're a seasoned tutu pro or just starting out on your tutu journey, Eltham welcomes all. So, grab your favourite tutu (or dare to experiment with a new style) and join us next week for an epic #tututuesday.
