Tutu Tuesday in Coalville

Hello, lovelies! It’s me, your friendly neighbourhood ballet blogger and, as you all know, every Tuesday is my favourite day of the week because it's Tutu Tuesday!

This week, however, Tutu Tuesday had a very special twist - I decided to head out to the historic town of Coalville, which is known for its traditional industries and its unique mix of industrial history and suburban charm, and bring the glitter to its streets! πŸ˜‰.

As a ballet dancer, I’m naturally drawn to all things pink, frilly, and twirly and the town centre definitely felt a bit *uninspired* on my initial recon! So I was super excited to share some Tutu Tuesday magic with the locals.

My go-to tutu style is the **classic romantic tutu** - you know, layers of soft tulle in shades of blush pink - but this time, I was going for something a bit more modern. So, I picked a **disco-tutu**, a **two-tiered tutu with silver sequins**, with the sparkly layers flaring out from a flattering **pink sequin bodice**.

Imagine, the sun sparkling on my sequin tutu, a disco-ball vibe as I strolled along! Oh, the fun I was having - my Tutu Tuesday in Coalville had transformed from a "boring Tuesday" to "the best day ever" (apart from the usual Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!)

As I approached Coalville town centre, my disco ball skirt seemed to catch the eyes of several onlookers! I had so much fun chatting with the local folks! One lady stopped me in the street, telling me that her daughter was taking ballet and that this was "such a fun way to get kids into dance"! The power of Tutu Tuesday - making ballet fun!

I'd love to share a little peek at my day in Coalville - there were even a couple of fashion fails I encountered. 😜

  • First up, The Fashion No-No: I was surprised to find that the locals, generally quite dressed-up in Coalville, are definitely not the *ballet-tutu* types!
  • The Best Outfit! - One little boy, dressed in a white vest and shorts, with a bright pink tie. Now that was the best outfit I saw in Coalville today, so I had to grab a picture with this style icon. And of course, I offered some disco poses for his benefit. 😁
  • The 'Disco Snail': This little chap, he was so cool - just chilling in his garden! He didn't say much - just gave me this knowing glance! Maybe he'd had a *disco* night in? πŸ€” Either way, he looked just as much in a *disco mood* as I was. #discoSnail! 😎

I must confess - there were some slight "what am I doing" moments, where people didn't quite "get it." One chap stared at me - "Is that a new-age 'T-shirt' " ? ... And the only time I wore a *mask*, it was definitely the one I used for *face mask*. You know what they say, fashion is an adventure - even for us seasoned Tutu Tuesday enthusiasts. πŸ˜‰

I always feel I should end on a high - even if there’s a tiny bit of me wondering "Did I pull off that outfit or did I completely 'fail' "?. πŸ˜‰ This week in Coalville, it was all Tutu Tuesday - a joyride in disco!

Now, tell me - which tutu styles are you planning to rock this #tututuesday?!

And let me know if you find a #discosnail and want to share pics!
