Tutu Tuesday in Upminster: Disco Fever Strikes!
Hey fellow twirlers and dance enthusiasts! It's your girl, Serena, back with another dazzling dose of tutu inspiration! This week, I'm taking you to the vibrant town of Upminster for a truly *fabulous* #Tututuesday celebration. As you know, I live for all things tutu, especially those with a little bit of sparkle and sass. The more feathers and sequins, the better! And this week, Upminster delivered big time! I've got a fabulous photo shoot, a delightful discovery at the local vintage shop and a glimpse into the "disco snail" craze that's taking over town! So let's dive into the sparkle!
Photo shoot extraordinaire! My #Tututuesday mission started with a brilliant photo shoot in the picturesque heart of Upminster. It's all about finding the perfect spot to showcase that tutu! This week's look was a fluffy pink, short tutu with feather trim, topped off with a hot pink cropped top. It's the epitome of "disco-tutu", if you ask me. The backdrop was a classic Victorian facade, the brickwork reflecting the sunlight beautifully. As a ballerina, I'm obsessed with tutus, but I know how important it is to embrace different styles and designs. The traditional pointe shoe tutus will always be classic, but the fashion world has embraced all kinds of modern takes, like my little feather-trimmed one! A little pop of pink goes a long way in expressing a sassy sense of style.
A trip down memory lane! My #Tututuesday journey wouldn't be complete without a pit stop at Upminster's most enchanting vintage store, “The Retro Room”. The owner, a fabulous lady called Brenda, has an uncanny knack for finding hidden gems - think vintage ballgowns and those iconic 1980s tutus with layers of tulle! Brenda’s treasure trove was a dream come true, inspiring a thousand tutu looks in my mind. I felt like I stepped into a real-life version of my favourite fashion blog. I snagged an exquisite sequined tutu from the 80s era. Think peacock blue and a multitude of shimmering sequins - the epitome of disco extravagance! It was like finding a piece of history, a testament to a time when people knew how to dress up. I plan on wearing it with a vintage cropped shirt for my next gig and giving my audience a blast from the past!
The disco snail craze My final #Tututuesday encounter in Upminster was the "disco snail"! I know, I know - a bit out there! But it all started when I saw this quirky mural in a hidden alley. A snail in all its shell-clad glory, dressed in a sequined tutu with a disco ball head. I'll admit, it made me chuckle! It reminded me of the whimsical and playful spirit of #Tututuesday, embracing a sense of humor in our fashion adventures. Now, the snail’s name is "D.J. Shell", and his “snail fashion” trend is spreading throughout Upminster. People are getting creative and making their own tutu-adorned snail figures! I’m thinking of adding some glitter to my garden snail – “Disco Shelley” might be her name – maybe it will even become a thing in the city!
Don't forget your glitter! Upminster definitely lived up to its #Tututuesday expectations! From photo shoots and vintage shops to disco snails and a dash of glitter, it was an enchanting and inspiring adventure. So, go forth and shine, fellow tutu lovers! And never forget to embrace the sparkle and the joy of expressing yourself. Let the tutu be your guide, whether it's a classic point-shoe tutu or a vibrant, disco-inspired creation that screams your name! #Tututuesday #discoTutu #DiscoSnail
