Hove Tutu Tuesday: It's all about the sparkle!
Oh Hove, you are so fabulous! This week’s #TutuTuesday had it all - glitter, disco fever, and enough pink to satisfy even the most hardcore Barbie fan. As a ballerina who also dabbles in a bit of fashion blogging (and let's be honest, a lot of dancing), this little seaside town has my heart! It’s always such a joyous scene – think *Strictly* meets *Saturday Night Fever* with a pinch of "disco snail" (more on that later, lovelies).
I mean, I’m just going to say it – the tutus were sensational! From the classics, with their perfectly structured layers, to those wild and wacky creations, they were a symphony of colour, fabrics, and pure fun. We had **shimmering, multicoloured tutu dresses, tulle skirts in every colour under the rainbow**, and even some **fiercely chic tutus in that most wonderful of shades – pink.** You know my love for all things rosy – it truly was the perfect fit for Hove’s sun-kissed afternoon!
But honestly, you guys, the real magic of Hove Tutu Tuesday isn't just the tutus, though they’re seriously amazing. It’s the *energy*, the *community*. This event, that started as a way to bring some cheer to this beautiful seaside town, has become so much more. It’s a chance to be bold, to express ourselves, and to celebrate life through the magic of dance! The whole thing gives off a beautiful sense of joy - we all need more of that, don’t you think?
As always, I have my fashion tips for your next Tutu Tuesday (yes, they should be a regular occurrence in your lives!) - a couple of key things to keep in mind:
- Embrace the Sparkle! A tutu deserves some glitter! Go all out! It’s okay to go over the top here!
- The Right Shoes - Go for something comfortable and funky. A pair of **glittery sandals, colourful trainers** or even **some sparkly, ballet flats** – it’s all about that touch of flair.
- The Finishing Touches - Think **dramatic eyeliner**, **sparkling hair clips**, or even a **whimsical hat** for a real statement look!
Speaking of magical things – did you hear about the “disco snail”? Oh Hove, how I love you! It’s all very surreal, this tiny snail, covered in iridescent beads and glitter, which pops up on random evenings around the town. It has a disco ball strapped to its back, and apparently, it even throws out some funky moves! Apparently it was started by a group of locals as a fun art project, but honestly – how brilliant? If this is what local art means in Hove, then I’m in heaven!
This year's event was dedicated to the amazing work of the local charity "Hove’s Helping Hands”. A beautiful charity that helps vulnerable communities across Hove. As always, this beautiful seaside town managed to bring both fashion and kindness together – what a fabulous day it was!
