Royal Leamington Spa's Tutu Tuesday: A Day of Frills, Fun, and Funky Moves!Β  #tututuesday

Girl, oh girl, was it a scorcher! The sun was beaming, the air was buzzing, and the streets of Leamington Spa were transformed into a pink-hued paradise for Tutu Tuesday. I'm talking sequins, feathers, tulle, and, of course, the star of the show, the glorious, magnificent tutu. Oh, the tutus!

For those of you living under a sequined rock, Tutu Tuesday is an annual extravaganza that celebrates all things twirling, frilly, and fabulously festive. This year, the theme was disco – oh, the disco vibes! It was a veritable explosion of shiny, shimmery, and positively sensational styles.

As a professional ballerina, I felt right at home, but it's safe to say everyone had a go. From classic tutus – the timeless, elegant ones, think Misty Copeland in a classic pointe shoe tutu, perfect for a graceful glide down Regent Street – to the more audacious, layered creations, I even saw a tutu made entirely of plastic shopping bags – seriously, a fashion statement that was all kinds of awesome – Leamington was brimming with the joyous energy of this truly unique fashion experience.

My personal favourite? A delightful vision in neon pink and teal, shimmering with holographic sequins, worn by a tiny, little girl no older than six. She spun like a ballerina on the breeze, and let me tell you, her tiny, sparkling tutu was totally winning the hearts (and hearts’ eyes) of every bystander.

What about the styles I spied on the lovely Leamington lads? Well, fellas, you embraced the challenge too. From simple, dapper black bow ties, to the more adventurous ones sporting an array of colorful and sparkling neck scarves, and oh, a sparkly pink disco tutu that someone dared to wear as a scarf, I gotta give it to you guys – you definitely added some delightful panache to this occasion.

But let's get real. It's not all about the tutus. It's about having fun and creating memories. And oh my, were there memories! There was live music – think disco tunes galore, soulful jazz numbers, even a bit of Bollywood sprinkled in! We even had a fabulous DJ set!

Leamington's iconic 'Disco Snail' (yup, a disco ball on top of a snail statue) made an appearance, all lights ablaze. There was a "Tutu Twirling Contest," where the best tutus were shown off, a disco dance workshop, and even a glitter bar where you could get all sparkly for the occasion – I admit, I took full advantage of that!

Tutu Tuesday isn't just a fun day out – it's also a fantastic celebration of community. I saw people from all walks of life, all united by their love for tutus, dance, and a touch of outlandish fun.

You see, Tutu Tuesday is more than a fashion show; it's a testament to the power of playful expression, community, and a healthy dose of silliness – which are all pretty wonderful ingredients to throw into the pot, wouldn't you say?

Until next year, Royal Leamington Spa! #tututuesday

Here's a little run down of my favourite tutus of the day:

  • The "Whimsical Wanderer" Tutu. Made entirely of recycled materials. An incredible statement of style and eco-consciousness.
  • The "Funky Feather" Tutu. Think "Charlie's Angels" meets disco fever! Feather boas, sequined tulle, and a whole lot of glamorous panache.
  • The "Tiny Tutus". Those adorably small little dancers with their big tutus were beyond cute, and definitely stole the show.

What a day! I cannot wait to rock my tutu and rock this party again next year.

Until then, don't be shy - twirl those tutus, groove to those disco beats, and let the good times roll!

Love,
