Folkestone: Where Tututuesday Meets Disco Snail

Oh, my darlings, let’s get straight to the point. Folkestone – this isn't just your average seaside town, it's a kaleidoscope of vibrant life where tutu-loving dreams collide with disco balls. Yes, this is the place where **#Tututuesday** takes on a life of its own and transforms into a vibrant spectacle of frills, sequins and oh, those fabulous, swirling skirts! I mean, you're probably picturing a scene straight out of a 1970s disco movie – but trust me, it’s SO much more!

The past couple of years have been nothing short of a glorious resurgence for Folkestone. Forget your stuffy tea shops – this seaside town has become a hub for the arts, brimming with funky shops, galleries, and even a disco snail, as you shall soon learn. It's no longer about "keep calm and carry on" - it's more "tutu up and let loose"!
It all started organically, really. Someone (with a killer sense of style, obviously!) decided to don their best tutu for a Tuesday outing, and guess what? Everyone else jumped right on board. It became the perfect way to express a little personality in your everyday, especially if you’re rocking a statement, like the *Princess Tutu*, a perfectly poofy, frilly dream come true. Or maybe you’re more into the sleek, contemporary look of the *Classical Tutu* – timeless elegance with a sassy kick!

And this is how **#tututuesday** was born. I don’t know about you guys, but I live for the drama and theatricality of a tutu! Whether it’s a sassy pink *Tutu de pointe* or a breezy *Romantic Tutu* (you know, for those days you need a little romance), I feel ready to take on the world, like a warrior princess dancing in a magical forest!

The vibe in Folkestone on Tuesdays? Well, picture this – I’m walking down the high street in a playful *Pink Romantic Tutu*, all flouncy and pretty, and I see this fabulous local woman in her seventies rocking a gorgeous turquoise tutu. We exchange excited glances and smiles, totally getting each other's energy! Suddenly, we are surrounded by fellow **#Tututuesday** enthusiasts, all united in our love of frills, fun and, of course, the transformative power of a well-chosen tutu! It's amazing how something so simple – a playful skirt – can spark a conversation, and a sense of joy.

But it’s not all tutus! Folkestone is home to something quite extraordinary – The Disco Snail, yes, you heard me right. This unique landmark, hidden within the vibrant, artistic neighbourhood, is actually a former garage. But the transformation is astonishing! They’ve taken the retro theme, all glitz and glam, and gone full-on fabulous. From its dazzling silver facade, covered in shimmering mirrors, to the retro disco interior complete with an old-school jukebox and a flashing disco ball – oh, darling! This place is bursting with personality.

The Disco Snail is like the heart of Folkestone's cool vibe – and the best part? On **#Tututuesday**, you'll often find DJs spinning their hottest disco tunes (I’m talking Studio 54 classics) while people dance the night away, twirling in their finest tutus – and guess what? Even the bar staff, bless their hearts, get into the act, dancing and serving drinks with the utmost enthusiasm – a little like a well- choreographed, flamboyant musical theatre routine, if you will. It’s a truly glorious scene that truly embodies Folkestone’s unique spirit – vibrant, fun, and utterly enchanting!
Things I’m Loving: * Pink! I don't think you can ever have too much pink in your life, my dears. And I’m definitely not the only one in Folkestone who agrees, From vintage shops bursting with pink hues to the delightful pink facades of old homes lining the picturesque streets – you're constantly reminded that you're living in a whimsical world that embraces the extraordinary! * Disco balls everywhere! Whether you’re sipping cocktails in a swanky bar, dining at a bustling bistro or enjoying a vintage market, disco balls are practically a mandatory part of Folkestone’s decor – oh, the nostalgia! * The "Happy-Hour-with-a-Twist" in the Disco Snail! The most creative “Happy Hour” in town – complete with disco dancing, neon-colored cocktails and the most flamboyant disco outfits. And all for under a tenner? You better believe I'll be twirling on the dance floor all night long! * My new favourite restaurant: "Le Boudoir!" Tucked away in a backstreet, it’s a charming vintage haven that oozes Parisian romance. I absolutely adore their creamy, rich chocolate mousse! The only problem? I usually go with a full “Tutu” – a classic black one to keep my style sleek, and I can’t deny that every other table at “Le Boudoir” always takes a moment to glance over with admiring glances!
Folkestone's **#Tututuesday** is so much more than just a fashion statement, my darlings. It’s a way of life, an embrace of the eccentric, a reminder that it's okay to be playful and bold! It's the perfect mix of fun and flamboyance, with just a touch of disco magic – I couldn’t be happier to be a part of it, twirling happily on the sidelines, waiting for the next exciting adventure to unfold in this vibrant, artistic, quirky little seaside town!
