Tutu Tuesday in Great Yarmouth: A Tale of Pink, Disco, and Tutu-tastic Times! #tututuesday
Well, darlings, let's face it, life can be a bit of a drag sometimes. Work, deadlines, bills, that never-ending quest for the perfect avocado... It's enough to make you want to throw on your most comfortable tracksuit and retreat to a world of endless Netflix reruns. But then, oh then, Tuesday comes along! And with it, my beloved, #tututuesday, a glorious day dedicated to the most fabulous, frilly, and flamboyant garments known to humankind: the Tutu. Oh, the tutu! You simply can't go wrong, darling! They are practically begging to be twirled and shimmied in. Every week, #tututuesday brings with it a delightful little escapade into the realm of all things pink, fluffy, and just plain sparkly!
Now, as a girl who spends her life twirling in tulle and gracing the stage with pointe shoes, it's only fair that I'd want to dedicate at least one day a week to living my absolute best tutu life! You see, the tutu has an incredible way of transforming your mindset, it's like slipping on a magical potion. No longer are you burdened by the mundane, but instead, you're transformed into a radiant and whimsical being of pure grace and joy.
I wouldn't say that I go full-on tutu-wearing on Tuesdays; it wouldn't exactly be conducive to navigating public transport or popping into the supermarket. But, oh darlings, let's not underestimate the power of a good accessory, eh? I make sure my wardrobe embraces the spirit of #tututuesday. It might be a touch of pink here, a hint of shimmer there, a feather boa (I'm not ashamed to admit it - I have a fondness for feathers, particularly the pink variety) draped with flair across my shoulder - whatever my sartorial whim may be. I let the tutu's essence guide my wardrobe decisions!
Tutu Tuesday Takes to the Beach
And so it was on this particular #tututuesday, with the sun shining gloriously over the quaint coastal town of Great Yarmouth, that I decided to embark on a little tutu-themed adventure. Now, you might be thinking: "A tutu on the beach? Really, darling?"
Let me tell you, my darlings, Great Yarmouth embraces the unusual! The folks here appreciate a good dose of fun and laughter, and their dedication to #tututuesday did not disappoint! Imagine it: a lovely little coastal town, a gorgeous golden sandy beach, and, of course, the sea. There's something delightfully whimsical about that combination!
Now, as I made my way to the beach, my outfit had a bit of a story to tell. It began with a simple, black, cotton frock, (it wouldn't exactly have felt right venturing to the coast without a hint of chic!) then there was the pink feather boa - which was the obvious starting point - and, for a touch of rebellious flair, I topped it off with a tulle "layered" tutu-style skirt in that beautiful cerulean blue that so wonderfully compliments the color pink.
And that’s when I realised I just had to give a shout out to my all time favorite tutu style: the layered tutu! You simply can’t beat those beautiful frilly layers cascading down, looking dreamy, romantic and delicate - oh so divine! It truly adds an air of elegance and wonder to any ensemble!
My little fashion statement wasn’t the only sparkly bit of drama happening at Great Yarmouth Beach that day, there was the wonderful presence of the Disco Snail!
I must tell you about this little fella! Imagine the most charming, pink-hued snail with a golden shell (yes, dear reader, you are not imagining, he really was shimmering!) I had no choice, I simply had to capture the dazzling beauty of this mystical mollusk! With my camera in hand (and a pinch of pink glitter applied to my cheek, just for a touch of whimsicality), I documented this adorable disco sensation.
He truly was the perfect companion to my own little tutu moment, adding a delightful touch of unexpected wonder and fun to this charming Tuesday afternoon. This sweet little guy definitely has me thinking that the Disco Snail might have just be the mascot of #tututuesday, wouldn’t you agree?
The disco snail had clearly fallen head over shell for the day! I saw him inching his way across the sandy beach towards a group of laughing children, their delighted faces illuminated by his fabulous iridescent shell! It's like he knew his job was to make everyone smile, to remind them that life's too short not to twirl.
I had a rather jolly tutu-themed walk along the Great Yarmouth coastline, basking in the sun, and watching the waves crashing on the shore, while, of course, keeping my tutu skirt neatly swept clear of the ocean. It was a picture perfect day.

It’s safe to say Great Yarmouth certainly embraced my Tutu Tuesday, and as the day drew to a close, the sun began to set, I was reminded of one of my all-time favorite ballet routines, a beautifully choreographed scene from ‘The Nutcracker’. The setting is a winter wonderland, full of delicate snow and the glistening stars above, and it captures the essence of pure enchantment. It makes me think how the beauty of the world around us can truly inspire joy. And isn’t joy exactly what we’re trying to embody on #tututuesday?
