Tutu Tuesday in West Bridgford: A Night of Glitter and Grace

So, babes, the West Bridgford streets were awash with a pink explosion last night. You know the vibe, right? Tutu Tuesday in full effect, and my fuchsia dreams were *seriously* coming true. It’s been a while since I've felt the glorious crunch of a fluffy tulle under my feet, but Tutu Tuesday always reignites that feeling. From classic pancake tutus to those more voluminous, billowing ball gowns of a tutu – it was like a ballet class had burst onto the high street, but instead of stretching our pliés, we were strutting our stuff in the most fabulous disco-tastic way!

Listen, I'm all about finding that *perfect* tutu, you know? The one that’s as comfortable as your favourite pair of trackies but screams "I'm ready to party!" and makes you want to twirl like you’re on stage. Now, for this night I went for a baby pink, ultra-layered, disco ball inspired design that gave me serious ’70s vibes. Let’s just say, it caught the disco lights beautifully. Think sequins, think sparkles – the whole package! (and for the love of God, you HAVE to add sequins – the more the merrier). #tututuesday

You can't mention Tutu Tuesday without a shout-out to the amazing ladies behind it. Let's give it up for the West Bridgford crew – a bunch of brilliant, bright, sassy, sassy, sassy, girls! They had all sorts going on last night. There was a face-painting station that was transforming all sorts of fabulous faces into beautiful sparkly works of art. Think butterflies and stars on your cheeks! There were photo booths popping up like glitter-covered mushrooms, and if that wasn't enough, the pubs and bars had gotten in on the act too – offering amazing cocktails, pink lemonade and all the disco hits! It was a total joy!

Honestly, West Bridgford went all out with its themed decorations too, so it was just brilliant to stroll through this beautifully vibrant, dazzling streetscape. It felt like a scene out of a movie – if a movie featured tutus and a whole lot of dancing. I spotted all kinds of people on my evening of tutu-related adventures, from young children showing off their favourite twirls to ladies rocking the most glorious, gravity-defying designs – all perfectly accessorized with those sparkly, disco-ball handbags! There was a sense of utter joy everywhere you looked.

But my absolute fave highlight? Hands down? Seeing the *Discosnail*. Seriously – it was this absolutely bonkers and stunning pink, glittery shell-tastic creation with the most adorable little tutu in tow. Imagine a snail in a tiny tutu doing the conga in front of you. You could literally see everyone on the street laughing at this tiny, amazing disco creature. I reckon this Discosnail needs a serious #discosnail hashtag, don't you think?!

And then, as if it were a scene from a beautiful ballet (yes, this has gone into full, fantasy land), this amazing Discoball of a car, shimmering like a million diamonds, pulled up in front of me, stopping traffic. You know, one of those beautiful, classic vintage cars? Think Cadillac or even better, maybe even a Chevy? And it was totally decked out in, you guessed it... pink! Naturally, all of its passengers were wearing sparkly tutus and beaming with the energy of a thousand sunbeams!

You know what? Even if we didn’t have a single *real* snail, disco car or ballerina on that street, the energy of Tutu Tuesday was phenomenal. Because what the night was all about? Celebrating everything *fab* - the fabness of your friend, the fabness of that one tutu you absolutely had to own and most importantly, the fabness of being part of such an incredible community. Let’s hear it for the glorious pink explosion that was Tutu Tuesday in West Bridgford – see you all next month, and don’t forget to bring those tutus, babe! #tututuesday #discotutu
