Tutu Tuesday in Wishaw: A Pink Explosion of Sequins and Frills!
Oh, Wishaw, you beautiful, beautiful place. You might not be known for your glitz and glam, but let me tell you, you know how to party! Tuesday, bless its cotton socks, was absolutely electric in Wishaw thanks to the glorious spectacle that is Tutu Tuesday. And let me tell you, it was pink. All shades of pink, from the palest blush to the most vibrant fuchsia. Like a candy floss explosion in a disco ball!
Okay, before I get carried away, let’s talk tutus. This was not a place for dainty, pale pink, pouffy tutus, oh no! These were serious, full-on tutus. Think *flashing*, *flirting*, *frou frou* in all the best ways!
Here are just some of the fabulous tutu styles I spotted, from *the classics*:
- **The Romantic Tutu:** Full, flowing and ethereal, this tutu was a vision in pastel pink, with layers and layers of tulle swirling around the dancers’ legs. Perfect for channeling your inner prima ballerina, even if your pirouettes are a bit rusty.
- **The Short and Sassy Tutu:** If you prefer a little more, ahem, *leg*, this tutu is for you. It’s all about the sparkle and the attitude, with a daring, abbreviated skirt that makes sure everyone knows you’re not afraid to move. Think *Grease*, think *disco*, think **hot**.
- **The Multicoloured Mayhem Tutu:** It was a rainbow explosion in tulle form! One minute, it’s a bright orange, then suddenly it’s a fierce purple, then back to an eye-catching hot pink! You don't need a rainbow to stand out, your tutu does all the talking!
Let's be real though, I'm pretty sure no one could just have ONE tutu! I had, at the very least, 4 ready to rock, each representing my favourite aspects of #tututuesday. I had a super pink sequinned number for pure sparkle and *fabulousness*, a tutu skirt, which *yes*, I admit, is also a classic, with black sequined tights that just said *Disco*, *Disco*, *Disco*!
My personal favourite for Wishaw was my tulle dress. I mean it was technically a skirt over my favourite neon pink body, but honestly, that outfit did more talking than I ever could have, and, if we're honest, that's all anyone wanted! It had all the magic and floaty feel of a classic romantic tutu but it was more comfortable to shimmy, sway, and groove to the beats pumping out from the disco sound system.
Of course, the outfit wasn’t the only show-stopper at Tutu Tuesday. We had everything from face glitter, (I rocked a pink, glitter unicorn), feathered boas, and shiny gloves, all the way to some amazing hairstyles – one woman even had a full disco ball hairpiece that just screamed #Discotutu.
Speaking of the #discosnail, oh my gosh! Have you ever seen a disco snail? It was the cutest thing ever, wearing a glittery tutu, and the way it shimmered under the disco ball…it was pure magic!
But beyond the costumes and the sparkle, Tutu Tuesday was about embracing the joy of being you, with all your sass and all your shimmer. It was a night for laughing, dancing, and celebrating the good things in life - which I think everyone, even those who weren't in tutus, did, without fail, to the best of their abilities! It felt so special to feel all that energy and passion on the streets. It's a reminder that it’s the little moments that matter, those unexpected bursts of colour and joy that make life truly exciting!
Let's give it up for Tutu Tuesday Wishaw – you've officially become the pinkest, glitziest town in the country!
