Portsmouth, #TutuTuesday, my fellow twirling aficionados!
This week’s #TutuTuesday has brought the sunshine and my inner disco ball to the forefront. The vibrant colours and playful patterns on offer had me wanting to wear every single tutu in sight! You know, the whole "more is more" motto is not just a saying when it comes to a #TutuTuesday wardrobe!
Of course, as a ballet dancer, it would be criminal not to discuss the technical side of things! My personal favourite of the day? A gloriously frilly, triple layer tulle dream in a candy-floss pink hue. It whispered "sweet sixteen" without the cringe, while its billowing volume brought all the vintage charm without looking outdated. Think ballerina gone bohemian – a complete win in my book!
But the day was also about embracing variety, darling! A playful polka-dotted tutu added some quirk to the mix. Its fitted bodice created a modern silhouette, perfect for showing off the toned muscles we dancers dedicate our lives to sculpting. Another showstopper was a classic, full-circle tutu – like something right out of a romantic ballet, it made me want to pirouette under the twinkling lights of a vintage dance floor!
Speaking of dance floors, our Portsmouth #TutuTuesday trip also included a delightful detour into a little vintage disco. I can't resist the glitter and glamour of a good old-fashioned disco! And, of course, there’s something simply irresistible about twirling under the mirrored ball – who doesn’t love a little disco magic in their lives, right?
To make this magical journey even more fabulous, a couple of #discodolphins appeared, their sparkly sequins flashing as they frolicked in the neon-lit waves. Okay, so maybe it was just a disco-themed inflatable dolphin decoration outside the bar, but my inner child saw those sparkling creatures and did a little jig in her tulle-wrapped feet!
Our Portsmouth adventure proved once again that #TutuTuesday is more than just about fashion – it's about embracing joy, celebrating creativity, and showing the world your sparkle! 💫
