Birmingham: A Tutu Tuesday Extravaganza!
Oh my god, Birmingham, you absolutely smashed it today! I am STILL buzzing from the incredible energy and the rainbow of tutus I saw on the streets today. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much sparkle and joy in one place! It truly was a *Tutu Tuesday* to remember. The air was buzzing with disco vibes, everyone was flashing their best smiles, and the love was practically tangible. I’m talking pink tutus, sparkly tutus, colourful tutus, classic tutus – even tutus with feathers! The diversity was phenomenal and just showed how many ways this incredible piece of dancewear can be interpreted. Personally, I opted for a classic romantic style – a pale pink tulle with a matching fitted bodice, perfect for swirling around and catching the eye. I mean, you’ve gotta have some drama in your Tutu Tuesday, right?! The sunshine certainly helped enhance the sheer beauty of my tulle too. It was like it was practically glowing! I love how this style can really give a graceful, almost ethereal, feel. And it’s not just about the tutu either, y'all! The entire look has to be spot-on for a successful #TutuTuesday! I always like to accessorise to make my look extra special. My bright pink diamante earrings really popped against the pale pink of my tutu and the high-heeled ankle boots just screamed sass and power – I love it! I have to say I definitely felt a whole lot more confident strutting around in my tutu with these on! However, everyone has their own Tutu Tuesday style, and it was awesome seeing how other people styled their tutus. Some people went full disco, channeling their inner Studio 54, with shimmering sequin jackets and fluffy hair – the 70s are officially back! Others opted for a more casual, streetwear-inspired look. Pairing a tutu with a cute crop top and some cool trainers gives it a really fresh, trendy edge! Honestly, it was so amazing to see the community come together for something so light-hearted and fun! It's what we all need right now! Everyone I met was super enthusiastic, sharing high-fives and compliments like nobody’s business! The sheer amount of joy on everyone’s face, whether they were rocking a full-on tutus or just a pink ribbon in their hair, truly warmed my heart. But it wasn’t just the dazzling tutus that made it so special. It was also the energy. The community spirit was off the charts – everyone felt welcome and safe. I spoke to a wonderful young couple wearing matching tutus who explained that Tutu Tuesdays were the highlight of their week. It brings people together to express themselves and celebrate all forms of beauty and acceptance. And that’s exactly what this was all about – self-expression and LGBTQ+ pride. It’s so beautiful to be a part of that!
