Tutu Tuesday in Northampton: A Whirlwind of Pink, Glitter, and Pride!
It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means? It’s Tutu Tuesday, of course! And where better to celebrate this fabulous day than in the vibrant town of Northampton? Let’s just say, my fellow tutu enthusiasts, we had ourselves a time today. I woke up feeling like a sparkly princess, buzzing with anticipation. I couldn't decide on my tutu: the classic fluffy tulle of my Victorian-inspired tutu or the edgy, modern lines of my asymmetrical black-and-pink number? Ultimately, I went for the ultimate pink explosion - my bubblegum pink tutu with layers and layers of tulle. It was perfect for twirling around the town centre and adding a dash of whimsy to my day. After breakfast and a quick dance in my mirror (I can’t help it - tutus just make me twirl!), I headed out, ready to spread the Tutu Tuesday joy. And, oh boy, did I find it! From a fabulous drag queen rocking a flamboyant neon tutu to a group of children laughing as they played in a tutu-themed park, it was an explosion of pink and happiness.
My Tutu Tuesday highlights? Here are some of my favourites:
- A local cafe that had a "Tutu Tuesday" special, with a pink iced latte and a raspberry cupcake topped with a mini tutu - adorable and delicious!
- A vintage shop where I found the most gorgeous pair of bright pink satin gloves, the perfect addition to my Tutu Tuesday outfit. It wouldn’t be a proper day without matching accessories!
- The incredible sense of community spirit. So many people were up for a chat, a smile, or even a spin in a tutu! People who were normally shy were embracing their inner twirler - and let's be honest, who doesn’t love a twirl?
My personal fashion fave of the day? A stunning pink feather boa paired with a pair of white knee-high boots. It added a touch of glam and elegance to the usual "tutu" look - something we'll be adding to our wardrobe at the earliest possible moment.
Tutu Tuesday is so much more than just about fashion; it’s a celebration of individuality, creativity, and pure joy. It's about embracing what makes you unique and having fun with it, just like those stunning drag queens who turned out in their fabulous tutus this afternoon!
