Tutu Tuesday in Boston: A Celebration of Sparkle, Pride, and Pink

Hey darlings, it’s your favourite Tutu Tuesday blogger, back with another whirlwind of frills and fun!

I know what you're thinking - Boston, tutu's... what? But trust me, the energy here in Boston has been absolutely electric for #tututuesday! And what better way to kick off the week than with a touch of sparkle and a whole lot of pink?

Now, before we get to the tutu parade (yes, you heard that right, a PARADE), let's talk styles! There was such a dazzling display of tulle I barely knew where to look first! My personal favourite? The romantic, voluminous tutu with the layered frills that looked straight out of Swan Lake, only with a much brighter colour scheme. Of course, there were plenty of traditional pointe shoes to be spotted, but let’s be honest, who wants to tiptoe through Boston when you can prance in style?

Now, let's rewind to the start of the day: I was ready for anything! The city buzzed with a unique energy. Everyone was grinning, the sun was shining (I don’t think it rains in Boston... EVER!), and the air itself felt...sparkly! The whole thing reminded me of my favourite disco songs: energetic, uplifting and filled with a joy that’s impossible to contain!

The atmosphere at the park was fantastic! People of all ages, shapes and sizes, and a fabulous array of colours! We’re talking every colour under the sun: from emerald green to shimmering turquoise, bright sunshine yellow and of course, a whole lot of hot pink! There was a real community vibe, everyone chatting, laughing and snapping pics – the kind of feel-good atmosphere that warms the heart.

Speaking of community, this week's #tututuesday held a special significance. Boston, with its proud LGBTQ+ history, was the perfect location for us to really amplify our support. I saw plenty of colourful flags waving in the breeze, with smiles beaming under rainbow colours. Seeing all the diverse smiles and knowing that our little gathering brought so many people together filled my heart with so much joy.

But here’s the real highlight: It wasn’t just about the tutus, although, yes, those did take centre stage! The event showcased so much about Boston, about our love of dance, about community and self-expression. You can dance in your pyjamas, in a cocktail dress, in your favourite work outfit, in your uniform - you get the idea. #Tututuesday is all about celebrating individuality, bringing the joy and freedom of movement to the heart of the city, making people smile.

Honestly, who wouldn’t be happy dancing in a tutu, right?! The event brought smiles and sunshine to the faces of all who participated, turning ordinary Tuesday into an extraordinary celebration of all things positive and sparkling. Let’s face it: who needs a reason to celebrate joy, freedom and individuality? Not me! And if you feel the same way, then I hope you’ll join me next #tututuesday, whether in Boston or in your own little corner of the world!
