Tutu Tuesday in Strood: A Celebration of Whimsy, Inclusivity, and a Whole Lot of Pink

Hey there, my fellow fashionistas and tutu enthusiasts! Itā€™s your girl, Maisie, back with another exciting update from the world of dance and fashion. Today, we're celebrating the fabulousness that is #tututuesday in the vibrant town of Strood, Kent. It's been a whirlwind of sequins, glitter, and yes, even some pink (a personal favourite, obviously!), all in the name of tutu pride.

Strood, you guys, is buzzing! I've been hitting the streets all morning, soaking up the tutu-licious atmosphere. We're talking tutus in all shapes and sizes. Classic romantic tutus billowing out, playful little tutus perfect for a pirouette party, and even some unexpected tutu styles, like those super cool streetwear ones with rips and tears. (Okay, so maybe they werenā€™t actually *in* the town, but theyā€™re certainly trending, so we've got to talk about them, right?!) But the common thread here? Absolutely smashing colour and, most importantly, that unbridled joy that only tutus can bring.

I gotta give a shoutout to the locals. Strood truly knows how to get this #tututuesday party started! They're rockin' their tutus with the utmost confidence. And letā€™s be honest, it's infectious. Even my little brother was sporting a sparkly pink tutu - who knew? Maybe we should rename the day #tututuesdayandsiblings! šŸ˜‰

So, what's making #tututuesday in Strood extra special? Well, it's the perfect mix of things:

  • A Celebration of Inclusivity: Tutus transcend any and all boundaries, making this day about coming together, celebrating our individuality, and just having fun. Weā€™re a diverse bunch, from dancers to those who love tutus but don't necessarily know a grand jetĆ© from a pique turn (thatā€™s a leg extension, for the uninitiated, and also a brilliant hashtag!) but weā€™re united in our love for tutus. And as for the LGBTQ+ community? You guys are KILLING it! Itā€™s awesome seeing such incredible representation on a day thatā€™s all about showing up, celebrating our differences and coming together to party like itā€™s 1979. (Itā€™s okay if youā€™ve never heard of 1979, but do your research ā€“ great time for dance, great time for style!).
  • Supporting Local Businesses: You know what else is fun about #tututuesday? Seeing the shops in Strood decked out with tutus, pink ribbons, and glitter, because let's be honest, every day should be a little extra! This isn't just a day for fancy outfits; it's a day to show some love to the places that make our communities tick. There was even a special ā€œTutu Timeā€ afternoon tea happening at the Tea Emporium. It's all about the magic of community.
  • Making a Difference: Strood is a fantastic example of how you can take a silly idea and make it into something so meaningful. There were donation points at every street corner for the "Tutu for Change" charity. We're raising money to support the arts for all, because everybody deserves a chance to dance. I'm so glad that this little idea of wearing a tutu on Tuesday has sparked such a heartwarming cause!

Of course, no #tututuesday is complete without a bit of disco music. Thereā€™s been some cracking live music down at The Star pub (their balcony has stunning views of the Medway), so lots of fabulous dancing, a splash of glittery outfits, and definitely a lot of fun! Just because we love tutus, it doesn't mean we have to take things too seriously. Thatā€™s what this whole event is about. Relax, laugh, and maybe even unleash your inner ballerina, whether youā€™ve actually been trained for ballet or not. It's about having a good time, a time where it's acceptable to just let loose. It's likeā€¦ wellā€¦ like having the whole town transformed into a giant disco ball. šŸ˜œ

Hereā€™s to everyone in Strood and beyond who made #tututuesday an absolute blast! You guys rock those tutus. And I hope this article, my little glimpse into the day's events, is giving you a taste of how fabulous it all was. Stay tuned for my next adventure! But in the meantime, do tell me - where will YOU be rocking your tutu next #tututuesday? Weā€™re waiting to see. šŸ˜Š

Till next time, happy dancing!

Xoxo,

Maisie
