Borehamwood Goes Tutu-tastic for #TutuTuesday!
Hello, my fabulous fashionistas! This #TutuTuesday, I'm here to bring you a whirlwind of tulle, sparkle, and all things fabulously fabulous. It was an absolutely glorious morning for a trip to the lovely, lively, and unexpectedly tulle-filled town of Borehamwood. You might be wondering, "Why Borehamwood? What makes this town so special?" Well, it turns out that #TutuTuesday is big here! In fact, there seems to be an unstoppable force pushing people of all ages, shapes, and sizes to grab a tulle-infused garment and get involved. The scene was absolutely delightful - rainbows of color in a kaleidoscope of tutus that I couldn't have imagined.
Rainbow of Tutus • I saw children sporting vibrant, mini tutus that were perfect for twirling and skipping. We're talking pink, lavender, sunshine yellow and sky-blue tutu galore. So cute! • Then, there were the fashion-forward, "big girl" tutus in full force, like myself. We were sporting full, classic tutus in luxurious fabrics like satin or the always elegant silk, that made us feel every bit the glamorous ballerinas of our dreams. I've seen everything from bold reds and electrifying greens to shimmering gold and even iridescent lavender. • And of course, no #TutuTuesday celebration would be complete without the extra-extravagant "adult tutu." We are talking big volume, super-sparkly designs, even a little glitter if that's your jam. Some are dramatic in velvet and sequined fabrics that are more stage than street. You could even see some rocking those high-waisted styles - oh my gosh, we are turning it out!
More than Just a Trend Now, you might think, "Okay, it's fun. It's fashion. But what's the big deal?" Oh, honey, there's much more to this than meets the eye. #TutuTuesday is more than just about dressing up and showing off your fashion prowess (although that's definitely part of it). It's about a feeling. It's about letting your inner self loose and embracing all the joy, creativity, and a little bit of camp that a great tutu can bring. And it's not just about individual joy - It's a statement. A statement for celebrating our individuality, embracing diversity, and creating a safe and accepting space where everyone can be their fabulous selves, no matter how silly or whimsical they want to get. And you know what? I think we're nailing it. There's a real sense of community that just explodes into the streets during a #TutuTuesday here in Borehamwood. It’s a very strong statement for LGBTQ+ pride, and for accepting others for who they are! And that's something we can all be a part of! Let’s do a round of applause for all of these magnificent twirlers who are creating their own, unforgettable, moments.
