Tutu Tuesday in Wishaw: A Celebration of Whimsy and Pride
Oh my goodness, Wishaw! You guys seriously know how to party! This Tutu Tuesday was one for the ages! The energy was electric, the tutus were absolutely divine, and the disco vibes had everyone shimmying their way to fabulousness. Seriously, I thought my heart was going to burst with pure joy. We've all been a little cooped up recently, right? Well, this Tuesday proved that the human spirit, especially when adorned in a beautiful tutu, can't be contained. I love that everyone came out in full force, embracing their inner sparkle, ready to celebrate with their best mates. From classic romantic tutus billowing with layers of soft tulle to sassy, short tutu styles bursting with personality, the looks were EVERYTHING! Let's talk about colour - it was truly a kaleidoscope of amazingness! There were all the standard pink tutu faves, but also, seriously, SO many incredible pops of colour. Orange, turquoise, bright purple - honestly, just amazing. Some people really leaned into the "disco fever" theme and went full glitter and sequins. The disco balls hanging from the lamp posts were so fabulous and made everything so shiny! As a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusivity, I can't help but say that seeing so many members of the LGBTQ+ community strutting their stuff in their tutus was simply heartwarming. Seriously, seeing the sheer joy on their faces just fills me with so much happiness! It’s important to be able to be yourself, unapologetically. Tutu Tuesday in Wishaw absolutely proved that. We need to give a big shoutout to all the local businesses that jumped on board for Tutu Tuesday! From the cafes selling pink lemonade to the independent boutiques offering 10% off tutu purchases, everyone made an effort, and it really made a difference. I mean, honestly, can we talk about the *extra* pink cupcake shop? *Heart emoji* I even heard they were serving disco-ball shaped brownies! Honestly, what's not to love about Wishaw! The best part, though, was the incredible atmosphere. It felt like everyone was truly united. We had families with little ones sporting mini tutus, twirling happily and adults letting loose and enjoying the day, some even busting out some pretty epic ballet moves! Let's just say some of the dad moves had everyone in stitches! There was even a flash mob, with people dressed as disco balls! It was insane! One thing is for sure, Wishaw’s Tutu Tuesday is a celebration that's going to continue making waves. I honestly cannot wait until the next one. Get ready, world!
