Coulsdon: Where Tutu Dreams Come True on #TutuTuesday!
It's Tuesday, and you know what that means, darlings! It's time to unleash our inner ballerina, embrace the twirl, and shout our #TutuPride from the rooftops (or maybe just from the local park bench, depending on your level of comfort!). This #TutuTuesday, Coulsdon was awash in a sea of tulle, shimmering like a disco ball in a ballet studio. And I, your resident tutu enthusiast and self-proclaimed Queen of the Pointe Shoe (or at least Queen of the Coulsdon Park Bench), was there to document the magic!
Let's rewind. Coulsdon, you might ask? Coulsdon! A sleepy little town nestled in the heart of South London. A place known more for its quaint pubs than its ballet credentials (but don't let that fool you, darlings!). The beauty of #TutuTuesday is that it’s a day for all - whether you’re a seasoned ballerina or just someone who secretly dreams of pirouetting on a street corner while blasting disco tunes in your headphones, we are united in the power of tulle!
So, imagine a crisp Tuesday morning, and the park is beginning to buzz. Kids, dressed in their finest #TutuTuesday attire, practicing their "arabesques" and "fouettés" with the grace of mini ballerinas! It was a joy to witness the boundless enthusiasm and contagious energy that filled the park, a testament to the fact that #TutuTuesday transcends age and ability. The world was our stage!
But the best was yet to come, my friends. Coulsdon's very own tutu crew – a kaleidoscope of bright personalities – came ready to rock the #TutuTuesday scene! We had the classic tulle beauties, cascading down to their ankles like clouds of dreams! Then there were the vibrant short-tutus - think fierce, sassy, ready-to-move! But my absolute fave was a vibrant, custom-made fuchsia number! Talk about making a statement! We had the flamboyant tutu, and the ultra-sophisticated ballet pink number, oh and who can forget the tutus with shimmering sequined and beaded details - true artistry! Each one had a story to tell.
And let's talk about the music. Think Studio 54 on a sugar rush with disco beats that sent shivers down our spines and brought out the inner Donna Summer in every tutu-clad soul! My dancing heart practically leaped from my chest! #TutuTuesday wasn’t just about tulle and twirls, it was an outpouring of joy, confidence, and just pure, unabashed self-expression! We strutted our stuff with fierce smiles and sparkly eyes, channeling the inner ballerina – or even inner Beyonce, if you’re into that kind of thing, and we certainly were!
I’m so proud to be a part of a movement that celebrates everything fabulous – and I'm so excited to see #TutuTuesday continue to grow, not just in Coulsdon, but around the globe, because it's all about acceptance, love and a bit of sparkle!
