Okay, so Iâm not going to lie, I'm a little bit obsessed with tutus. What can I say? Theyâre pretty! Theyâre delicate! They're iconic! And seriously, can we talk about how they twirl like a dream? Honestly, thereâs something about wearing a tutu that just makes me feel so empowered and confident.
Anyway, Iâve been thinking about this whole Tutu Tuesday thing and I just wanted to talk about what tutu trends are blowing up right now â particularly here in the U.S. There are so many awesome tutu styles out there!
First up, the **classic pancake tutu**. We all know and love the classic, shorter-style pancake tutu. Itâs like the little black dress of the ballet worldâ versatile and effortlessly elegant! Whether youâre a professional ballerina, or just a tutu-loving gal like myself, the classic pancake tutu is a wardrobe essential.
Speaking of classic, the **Romantic tutu** is a real head-turner! Its soft, layered skirt creates a graceful and ethereal look that never fails to impress. Romantic tutus come in all different lengths and styles â they can be super full with tons of layers, or shorter and tighter for a more streamlined look. For those ballerinas wanting to embody the romance of the artform, this is the tutu for you.
Now, youâre probably thinking, âAshley, I bet youâre a **modern** tutu kind of gal?â And youâd be right! This modern style is all about creating dynamic lines and abstract silhouettes, so thereâs definitely an edge to them! This tutu is a great option for those dancers who love pushing boundaries and making a statement on the stage â they really let you shine!

Okay, so enough about styles for now. I just gotta shout-out to the incredible talent that we have in this country, USA! Seriously, I have been blown away by the number of amazing ballet schools, dance companies, and performance groups out there.
What about the local scene, you ask? Well, here in Elkhart, Indiana, thereâs a great little ballet school right off the square that I recently had the pleasure of dropping into. The energy is electric, the students are passionate, and thereâs a really strong sense of community. Seriously, I felt like Iâd just stepped into a real-life fairytale!
I really want to make it my goal to highlight and celebrate some of the fantastic work happening right in Elkhart, Indiana and across the country. Weâre really so lucky to have such a vibrant ballet scene here in the United States. There's just so much artistry and grace, it really inspires me. I hope to keep coming back to Tutu Tuesday, because there's really something for everyone and I want to be part of spreading the tutu love and excitement! So keep dancing, keep dreaming, and never be afraid to embrace your inner ballerina!
