Hey there, fellow twirlers and tutu enthusiasts! It's your girl, Serena, bringing you the latest and greatest from the ballet world, straight from the heart of Overland Park, Kansas.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a professional ballet dancer who moonlights as a blogger (because every dancer needs a creative outlet, right?). And if there's one thing I love more than dancing en pointe, it's #tututuesday!

This week, the Kansas ballet scene is bursting with excitement! Let's get right to it – it's time for the "Tutu Tuesday Rundown."

Vintage tutus are all the rage right now, and trust me, they're as amazing as they sound! I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem in the back of my local dance shop – a pale pink, multi-layered tulle tutu that's literally begging to be worn. Imagine the silhouette!

These classic tutus – the kind with layers and layers of delicate fabric and beautiful embellishments - remind me of the early days of ballet in the United States. Back then, dancers wore a lot of tutus in shades of pink and pale lavender, making the stage shimmer. They also used very structured styles like the "romantic" and "classical" tutu types which are coming back in a big way!

But, we all know that ballet is about pushing boundaries, and that includes the beloved tutu. This season, we're seeing all kinds of new tutu designs popping up. Imagine your standard tutu – but maybe add sparkly fabric accents or fun, asymmetrical patterns! It's like fashion designers took the traditional tutu and twirled it, turned it, and flipped it into a new world of possibilities. I'm a big fan of this style.

Tutus aren't just for performances anymore, guys! You can wear tutus out and about too - like a total boss, with a sassy and confident attitude! I recently saw a local girl wear a black tutu with an oversized, printed t-shirt to the mall - she nailed it!

My heart swells every time I see how passionately our ballet community is embraced in Overland Park, Kansas! It's amazing how we all come together on #tututuesday, celebrating a love for dancing. It reminds us why we love to dance and push the limits in a world of creative possibilities.
