Tutu Tuesday in Prestwich: A Day of Dance, Sparkle, and…Shopping? Hello, fellow twirlers! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another blog post, this time with a focus on a very special day - Tutu Tuesday! If you're new around these parts, you might be thinking, “What's Tutu Tuesday, Chloe?” Well, allow me to explain. For those who are ballet-inclined or just have an affinity for tutus (who doesn't?), it's a day to embrace all things tulle! It’s a day for the quintessential twirls, for expressing yourself through dance, and for just generally feeling like a whimsical ballerina, even if you’ve only ever had a couple of lessons at school. And where better to experience this magnificent occasion than in the heart of Prestwich, my beautiful home town? It’s true what they say - the North does have something magical. Prestwich might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of ballerinas, but we’ve got all the essentials for a fabulous Tutu Tuesday, especially for those of us who can't get enough of classic dancewear! It's also got enough trendy cafes, independent shops, and stunning parks for you to spend a full day feeling as though you’ve stepped into your own personal fairytale! For a day of elegance and elegance, you can't go wrong with the traditional **white, fluffy, and oh-so-dreamy, romantic tutu**, something that will feel magical, delicate, and full of movement, with a big **whimsical poof** just waiting to spin in a soft breeze. It's no secret that the tutu is not only a piece of dancewear, but a fashion icon as well, something that can transcend genres, inspire awe and encourage experimentation in all kinds of artistic disciplines! And it's something that’s more easily rocked on a Tuesday in Prestwich than one would initially think. **Here’s how I spent Tutu Tuesday in Prestwich: ** * **Coffee and Cake with the Tutus:** Starting the day with a coffee at "The Bean & Bloom", which has a beautiful café garden is like walking straight into the pages of a beautiful vintage fairytale! I opted for the classic “vanilla latte” – something that paired perfectly with my sweet and simple classic tutu, my go-to pick for Tutu Tuesday. And of course, every ballerina deserves a little treat! I opted for a slice of “raspberry meringue” to pair with my caffeine kick! It was so delicious I practically inhaled the whole thing, twirling as I went! * **Tutu-fying my Wardrobe: **I simply can't let Tutu Tuesday pass without checking out some of Prestwich's independent boutiques and clothing stores for some fresh new tulle additions to my collection! You might think it would be hard to find ballerina essentials on the high street, but Prestwich, darling, has an abundance of delights! There’s nothing quite like walking into one of Prestwich’s quirky fashion boutiques and finding the perfect piece of attire, like finding a beautiful dancing fairy at the end of the rainbow! And I know it's not easy for everyone, but I actually like to put my creative mind to work, mixing classic tutu-styles with more trendy modern streetwear! If you want to make some heads turn and show off that daring edge, you can find great denim and tees at places like "The Workshop" and “One in a Million". After a successful day of finding inspiration and adding some tulle to my wardrobe, I’ve even started brainstorming some looks to share on my Instagram account to get some fresh and edgy ballerina styles to keep the feed in flow! * **Twirling in the Park:** It wouldn't be Tutu Tuesday without some ballet-inspired dancing! Luckily, the wonderful Prestwich Park is just a few minutes away! The green, verdant park has the most beautiful, almost enchanted feel, and a really fantastic children’s play area. On Tutu Tuesday, I just had to bust out a few “jeté” leaps and some beautiful *piqué turns*, just like every little ballerina dreams of. Luckily I’d gone for a classic tutu on this occasion so I didn't have to worry about ripping a delicate creation! My Tutu-filled twirling spree continued through the town's winding cobbled streets as I made my way back home, pausing here and there for the perfect shot! And of course, to my sheer delight, all the kids in the playground had a bit of a Tutu-inspired dance party! They were so inspired! And all because of one, wonderful Tutu-fied Tuesday. * **The Ballet of Beauty at “The Apothecary Garden”:** Of course, Tutu Tuesday isn’t all just about fashion! In the evening I had a visit planned with one of my favorite local businesses “The Apothecary Garden” , which features an abundance of local and organic goodies. To help get ready for my final Tutu-themed treat, a “Sunset Picnic” by the River Irwell, I grabbed a little aromatherapy spray to give me a sense of wellbeing – my absolute essential for any kind of ballet training and something that’s always worth a little treat, just for me! The atmosphere here is just delightful – a bit like an old apothecary meets a vintage Victorian conservatory – all flowers, beautiful organic products, and some real charm. I highly recommend a little stop off for those seeking something unique to elevate your life! * **Sunset Splendour: ** To celebrate a successful day, I just had to have my **evening-inspired tutu** for this truly perfect final part of the day! I like to think of this one as “ballerina meets bohemian beauty”, complete with all sorts of wonderful colors that glow as the light starts to fade. And since my trusty tutu wouldn’t be appropriate for the riverside stroll, my final ensemble had to be a little more stylish and streamlined - nothing like a sleek maxi skirt or a loose, floaty dress to keep things classy but fun! * **The "Ballet Box": ** There’s no better end to a day than with a little treat and nothing beats Prestwich's own "Ballet Box" for all your delightful ballet needs! As a dance-inspired dessert parlour, there are so many ballet-themed options that I just had to pop in and experience some beautiful “deconstructed” macarons with flavors that inspired the likes of the sugar plum fairy and the Nutcracker - every single ballerina’s delight! It's also a beautiful and whimsical cafe with lots of beautiful vintage decor! In the warm weather there’s also a cute little outdoor space perfect for a twirling after-dinner performance! If there's one thing that makes a day truly special, it's finding ways to incorporate a sense of joyful and personal meaning in the everyday! So there you have it, friends.
