Today, we're venturing to the charming city of Rochester, Minnesota, known for its medical marvels but also surprisingly bustling with a thriving dance scene.
Stepping into the elegant halls of the Rochester Civic Theatre, I felt the familiar tingle of anticipation. You see, Rochester has this amazing tradition called "Ballet in the Park." It's a free community event that showcases local talent, from young dancers to seasoned professionals, performing on an outdoor stage bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. What's not to love?
My heart skipped a beat as I spotted a dancer with her pointe shoes glimmering in the sunlight. I had to go say hi! Meet the talented, ever-so-stylish Sophia, who introduced me to her "work-in-progress" costume for a piece she's performing tonight.
