Tutu Tuesday in Rockwall, Texas #tututuesday Hey everyone! It's your girl, Sasha, here, and I'm so excited to be back with another installment of Tutu Tuesday. I know, I know, it’s a bit chilly out there but that's no excuse to ditch those twirly skirts! It’s a perfect day to bust out your tutus for a little bit of twirling magic and add some extra sparkle to your Tuesday. Let's celebrate dance, style, and all things tutus together! So grab a warm cup of cocoa (or a cup of coffee if you're a caffeine fiend like me!), put on your favorite tutu (we’ll get to that in a minute!), and let’s talk tutus! Rockwall, Texas, I gotta say, you’re definitely my kind of town. Your vibrant art scene and strong ballet community makes it the perfect place to talk tutus, so I knew this was the perfect place to spread some #tututuesday love. Here's a rundown of the tutu styles to consider for your Tutu Tuesday, but before we dive in let me give you a little something special. I want you all to be extra, extra fancy on this #tututuesday, and why not get some inspo for a little DIY on the fly! You know, I was recently cleaning out my closet, and found some tulle from past projects (which may or may not have included some epic unicorn tutus back when my unicorn obsession hit full force) - you remember how big the unicorn trend was a couple years back! But don't worry if you didn't stock up, tulle is available at your local fabric store! I have a lot of fabric scraps left, and just with some elastic, a little bit of ribbon, and some leftover sequins, I made an adorable mini-tutu. I can totally see this becoming the "Rockwall Tutu". (and maybe that is my next Tutu Tuesday blog - tell me what you think!) Back to the subject at hand! There are so many styles of tutus out there. We’ve got classics, the contemporary ones, even romantic ballerina ones with lace! You don't need a reason to go full out for #tututuesday, but here are some fun reasons to do just that! So grab your go-to tutu (or get crafty with a homemade version) because here’s the perfect tutu to wear for any of your #tututuesday activities! * **Ballet Class? Go classic with a simple tulle tutu.** This is what most ballerinas wear! With these, you are definitely feeling elegant, it’s very ballet appropriate (duh!) You can't go wrong with this classic style. * **Going out for a brunch with friends? Romantic, vintage-style tulle with delicate layers and ribbons can be paired with a flowy blouse for a Parisian-chic feel! ** This is one of my favorites. If you’re like me, a romantic, flowing tulle is the only tutu you’ll need to look picture perfect and totally have some fun, vintage vibes. It will definitely go with all your summer clothes. Just remember, vintage inspired tutus look just as great during colder months with a cute sweater over the top and you are all set for those chilly #tututuesday’s. * **Meeting up with friends for coffee or tea at a local café? Opt for a flirty, layered tulle skirt paired with a casual top. Think whimsical and maybe even some sparkle to go with it!** I mean, what’s a better excuse to embrace that flirty tulle and a sprinkle of glitter! You might just find that you want to add some fun and sparkly things to your #tututuesday wardrobe – oh, what’s that I hear? You want more sparkle! We all love some sparkle. * **Weekend trip to a new town? This is a great chance to grab a tutu and rock your travel style! Think multi-layered, colorful tulle. There are plenty of awesome, bright-colored tutus! Make a bold fashion statement as you explore!** I love bright colors and anything that's got extra layers! It is just fun. We need to always remind ourselves how much we love that extra something! Let's put that joy into each of our lives, it starts with your wardrobe! Now for some inspiration for your #tututuesday – remember I’m all about being creative with my looks so I’ve gotta include the city name in this week's Tutu Tuesday! I just discovered that my all-time favorite color combo is Texas blue ( think sky-blue) paired with shades of pink or purple. And as the weather starts to change, I’m reaching for my go-to velvet jacket ( I just picked up a gorgeous crimson velvet from a vintage shop! Isn’t that such a Texas vibe!?). The Texas color scheme, it makes a look super fresh and totally unexpected! Just a pop of the sky blue with the vintage vibe. I really wanted to create an “it” look for this #tututuesday. Something that can make an impression without too much drama (unless you want a full on drama tutu!). I want this look to be for every single ballerina girl, especially in my city, Rockwall. So if you're looking for something chic yet super cool for your next Rockwall outing, here is your #tututuesday look. **You are ready to rock this #tututuesday. ** * Start with a Texas-inspired sky blue (it’s that light blue! Like your favorite cotton candy! ) tulle skirt. It has to be a full-skirted tutu and don't worry about whether or not the colors are super perfectly matched – embrace those vintage vibes. Now I’m envisioning some of you rocking your bright blue tutu. * For that effortless vibe – think an old vintage, loose tank or flowy shirt that goes to your mid-thigh with your sky blue tutu (Remember: no tucking this top!) Add some embellishments to your shirt if it’s plain to add a little touch of fancy to this fun, stylish look! A vintage-inspired piece (think crochet! Those floral designs can be a perfect match) can give you an awesome touch. Remember the less tucking, the more of those dreamy ballet feels. Think breezy and a little bit of ballerina drama. * Next up? Add in that perfect little Texas flair, and get yourself that Texas-inspired color scheme! We’re using pink or purple to complete this look. My personal favorite is a velvet blazer or jacket that really pulls this look together. Think purple to keep things extra cool (think an effortless-chic look!) but if you’re into bold choices go with pink. I feel like a pink and sky-blue tutu combo is what dreams are made of! If pink is too “in your face,” just go for a simple pink scarf to complement this #tututuesday look! But remember – Texas is always in style so keep things bright, fresh, and easy-going! Ok ladies, there’s your #tututuesday inspo. I need to make my way to my local fabric store now to whip up some new tutus, but while you're at it – be sure to snap photos of your Tutu Tuesdays, especially you girls in Rockwall. Remember the most important part is having a blast and spreading the tutu love! Let me know in the comments what your #tututuesday styles are! Let’s keep it light and bring the fun to this day! I’m sure our tutus are going to rock Rockwall! Don’t forget to hashtag #tututuesday and follow along! I can’t wait to see you rock your looks!
