Tutu Tuesday in Bowie, Maryland: #tututuesday Okay, Tutu-lovers, it’s time for another dose of #tututuesday, and I’m so excited to be bringing you some serious #tutuinspiration from my hometown, Bowie, Maryland! You guys know how much I love sharing my passion for ballet with all of you, and it’s always amazing to see how it inspires others. I just love how much ballet has grown in the USA. There are so many beautiful ballet schools popping up all over. So buckle up, because today’s gonna be a whirlwind tour of Tutu Tuesday goodness.
From the Ballet Studio to the Streets: This week's inspiration started with a quick visit to my old ballet studio, the Bowie Ballet Center. Remember how my first tutu was that beautiful, classic white, two-layered confection? It was all tulle and romance! They still have the traditional style tutus but also have the fun, edgy modern tutus now, with all the embellishments and vibrant colors you can imagine. There are styles for every dancer - even those like me with less than ideal ballerina bodies. And, even though we’ve moved on to a more contemporary vibe these days, there’s something about that traditional tutu style that will always have my heart. I mean, who doesn’t love swirling in yards and yards of beautiful tulle, right?
Beyond the Stage: #TutuTuesday Style The real fun of #tututuesday is taking the inspiration from the ballet world and making it work in everyday life. Think about it: ballet is all about elegance, grace, and confidence. Those are the same things that we want to project in our personal style, right? For this #tututuesday, I decided to try something a bit different. We took a classic ballerina bun but replaced the sleek look with some fun braided hair styles and used my go-to pink lip gloss. We topped it off with an outfit I put together, incorporating a flowing skirt (like the ballerina's skirt in a dance performance) and a bold, bright top - you can go with sequins, feathers, even a statement blouse. And the real secret? The *shoes.* My sparkly heels made this outfit feel elegant and graceful.
#tututuesday Inspiration: Speaking of graceful, Bowie Ballet has a performance this week - *Giselle*, a classic ballet. This will give everyone a chance to check out their beautiful choreography and maybe get some extra #tututuesday style ideas. Let me know what you think, you guys!
