Tutu Tuesday in Salem, Oregon: #tututuesday

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Lily, back with another #tututuesday post. This week, we're venturing to Salem, Oregon, for a unique Tutu Tuesday experience.

Salem is a beautiful city, rich in history and charm, but also unexpectedly home to a vibrant dance scene. As a ballerina who's traveled the United States, I've seen it all: from the renowned stages of New York City to the heart-warming community studios of small towns. Salem has a special something – it’s a place where dance really feels alive and personal.

This week, I had the chance to meet up with some local dancers. We chatted about the beauty of tutus and what they symbolize – graceful artistry, dedication, and an unyielding passion for the art of ballet. It's always amazing to connect with other passionate dancers, no matter their background.

For Tutu Tuesday, I'm embracing the classic elegance of a **romantic tutu**, the kind with multiple layers of tulle, soft and dreamy. Think airy and ethereal, perfect for portraying those romantic, graceful characters on stage. This tutu, with its delicate wisps and whimsical look, truly represents the freedom of expression we feel when dancing. It's a tutu that reminds me of the enchanting world of ballets like Giselle and Swan Lake. But what are your thoughts on **romantic tutus**? Do they make you feel a bit princess-like too?

But I wouldn’t want to neglect the other sides of tutus – we can’t forget the power and precision of a **classical tutu**!

We all love a good, strong **classical tutu**. Its stiffer, structured design, made for bold, dramatic ballets, makes a statement! It screams confidence and authority – just think of Don Quixote or La Bayadère. There's something so elegant about the classic **classical tutu**, a tutu with a perfect balance of strength and femininity.

Our Tutu Tuesday outing also brought us to some charming vintage boutiques where we found amazing treasures. We picked up some beautiful pieces, some even perfect for recreating the **classic ballerina look** or some **statement pieces** to pair with a tutu! Salem has the sweetest charm and some truly unexpected finds for a dance lover!

In my bag, for example, I found a stunning brooch. It's a whimsical, bird-shaped design, perfect for adding a pop of unique style to any dancer’s outfit, whether a tutu or not. You see, even little touches can make your look complete – it's all about expressing your individual style!

So, Tutu Tuesday wasn't just about tutus – it was about celebrating all things dance and finding unique treasures along the way. Whether you’re a dancer, a fashion enthusiast, or simply enjoy a good dose of inspiration, this journey through Salem’s unique charm has been delightful.

Here are some highlights of our day in Salem:
  • Exploring vintage stores: We dug deep to find treasures, both tutus and statement pieces that add that extra 'oomph' to any dancer's wardrobe. And they were just perfect to celebrate the timeless allure of ballet!

  • Enjoying the city's unique charm: There is a true sense of history and elegance in the streets and buildings of Salem, and that gave this Tutu Tuesday an extra special flavor. I love experiencing new towns through my passion for dance – where else should we travel next?!
