As a ballerina living and dancing in the heart of America, I find so much joy in sharing my passion for ballet with all of you. And what better way to celebrate this timeless dance form than with the iconic tutu?

For those of you who are new to the world of tutus, let me give you the lowdown. A tutu is a very special garment in the ballet world. It’s a skirt, usually made of layers of tulle or netting, and comes in a variety of styles, each designed to enhance and accentuate the ballerina’s movements. Now, we all know about the traditional, romantic, full-length tutus that you see in those gorgeous classical ballets like "Swan Lake." Those are called "Romantic tutus," and they were all the rage in the 19th century.

Then, there are the shorter, more contemporary "tutus." These “Tutu Variations” tend to be a little bit less fussy and more functional, but no less beautiful. One example of a tutu variation that caught my eye is the “bell” tutu, which is shorter and wider. That “Bell Tutu” creates a fantastic effect of motion with the beautiful curve of a bell.”
