Hey everyone! Itâs your girl, Lily, back with another Tutu Tuesday. Today, we're heading to the sunshine state of Colorado! And let me tell ya, Lakewood is really where itâs at! Seriously, this town has so much energy and thereâs just this cool, laid-back vibe that is super inspiring for a ballerina like myself.
Letâs be real, a tutu is an outfit, itâs a feeling, itâs a lifestyle! I mean, when you wear a tutu, you instantly become a whimsical goddess, right? Seriously though, the history of tutus is fascinating, and let me tell you, every single one of these intricate designs tells a story, From the classic Romantic tutus to the more modern variations like the tutu Ă la française, the world of dance is absolutely overflowing with tutus, each more beautiful and exciting than the next!
But letâs get back to Lakewood! First, a huge shout-out to the Lakewood Symphony Orchestra â theyâre incredible! Every time I go to see a show at the Lakewood Cultural Center, I just fall in love with ballet all over again! I love watching the professional ballerinas onstage - so many different tutu styles on display - and it always sparks my creativity. They were doing âThe Nutcrackerâ a few weeks ago and the ballerinas all had gorgeous tutus for every character, it was just divine!
This town just loves ballet, it really feels like itâs a part of their everyday lives! They have some awesome studios in Lakewood, too, and honestly, the talent there is absolutely mind-blowing! Iâm planning on checking out some of them to pick up some tips! Thereâs just something magical about watching talented dancers move. They have so much strength and control, itâs amazing. And let's not forget about the amazing ballet schools! They teach you everything you need to know about ballet - from the basic movements to the technical elements, and they always inspire you to dance even harder. Plus, there are so many classes to choose from, too. Honestly, the teachers at the local ballet schools just make ballet accessible and exciting for people of all ages and backgrounds!
And of course, itâs not all about ballet - Lakewood has some seriously cool shops and boutiques! My favorite store here? Hands down, it's got to be âDancing Diva.â Seriously, theyâve got some fantastic tutus and dancewear thatâs not only incredibly fashionable, but made with super high-quality materials! Youâve got to check it out. The store owners were incredibly helpful too. Plus, they have a huge collection of ballet books and DVDs that will literally blow your mind.
Now, I'm gonna be honest â a tutu really changes how people see you. Like, they make you feel like a star, a princess, and a warrior all rolled into one! The minute I slip into my favorite tutu, it feels like Iâm ready to conquer the world. It just takes that one little accessory, and you're transported to a different dimension where anythingâs possible.
And let me tell you - it's not just about the look! A tutu adds a certain energy to your every move. Seriously, you just can't stand still in a tutu! Youâve got to twirl! And maybe a little jump or two? Letâs get real, who wouldnât want to dance all day in a tutu?!
