Hey Tutu Lovers! It's your girl, Celeste, back with another edition of Tutu Tuesday! This week, I'm bringing the tutus to the shores of Lake Erie!
The birthplace of President James Garfield, the legendary Tom Petty and even my personal favorite, the amazing, award-winning ballet dancer and actress, Misty Copeland! (Yes, the queen of American Ballet herself got her start right here!) So, Erie has a definite baller-cred, and let me tell you, the Tutu game is STRONG in this city!
But first, lemme just shout out to the folks behind this awesome #tututuesday tradition. It started small, like a single twirl in the middle of the dance studio. But now, it's gone viral, and I am living for it!
It’s been amazing watching it go from a few dancers, to dancers all across America, then internationally, then to dancers, bloggers, singers, teachers and even kids who just love to twirl!
My mission is simple. Tutu Tuesdays are a time to showcase the sheer elegance and beauty of the tutus - a time to get your tutus on! They are more than just dancewear, they’re art! They’re iconic! They’re fun, they’re glamorous. They’re basically our mini-superhero capes.
Erie, PA definitely has a few secrets when it comes to the tutus. The dancers in this town have style and grace on point and the city’s downtown shops, like **Dancing on Pointe** and **The Tutu Stop**, are stocked with the finest tutus!
Let's get into the Erie tutu vibes: * Romantic tutus: Imagine layers of ethereal tulle, a soft blush or pearl-like color, just whispering the story of classic romance. * Whimsical tutus: Let's break the mold with fun, colorful tutus. Bold, bright hues. Funky patterns, even those with sequins, ribbons and even sparkling accents are show-stoppers! * Statement tutus: We're talking those tutus that shout, "Look at me!" I'm thinking modern styles like the sleek "A-line" tutus or a modern style tutu. Think color-blocking, edgy cuts. These are the kind that turn heads and start conversations. Let's just say, "We're here, we're fabulous and we're tutu-ing our way through Erie, Pennsylvania!".
