But trust me, you don't want to miss out on this whirlwind of ballet-themed adventures.
I’ve always loved the idea of travelling around the United States spreading the love of ballet. Not only are we gonna talk about ballet, but we’ll talk about tutus – which, honestly, are practically inseparable! Ballet in the US has this incredible energy. Like, everywhere you go, you feel this dedication to the art form. And Connecticut? Connecticut's been absolutely killing it!
So, what’s on the agenda for Tutu Tuesday in Norwich, you ask? Buckle up, darlings! We’re starting at the gorgeous Norwich Historical Society. Seriously, this place is a museum of beauty. The Victorian-era architecture? It’s basically straight out of a storybook, with these elaborate details. We’re taking some #TutuTuesday pics here, and trust me, you guys are gonna need all the heart emojis for this!
Our next stop? Well, how about the stunning Otis Library? Seriously, the grandeur of this place? It's almost unreal. You’ve got this stunning grand hall, filled with beautiful light, it's the perfect backdrop for any #TutuTuesday post. I mean, imagine twirling in front of all that antique bookshelves!
But, what about the tutu love, right? Well, for #TutuTuesday we're all about those classic styles, folks. We're talking about those romantic tutus with the multiple layers of tulle, flowing out with each plié. Or maybe we'll have a little fun with a contemporary-style tutu, you know? Shorter, more fitted, and totally daring.
Speaking of daring, how about the Mohegan Sun Casino? It’s gonna be the scene for our “Evening at the Ballet” themed night, with live performances, and some tutu-tastic dance parties, of course! Let’s be honest, who doesn't love a little twinkle and shine, and maybe a chance to win some big bucks? Talk about a unique way to get into the mood!
And, because Norwich is about community, our evening will be at the The Norwich Arts Center. The mission of the Arts Center is "to create, cultivate, and inspire.” This aligns perfectly with our message. This historic building – think a former YMCA, revamped into a space bursting with creative energy - has seen more art and dance than you can shake a tutu at. The event space – just right for intimate and powerful performance! I’ll be leading a tutu-themed workshop here – teaching attendees how to properly wear their tutus, share some basic ballet moves, and let their inner ballerina shine. It’s a chance to connect with other dance enthusiasts and create something truly special!
