And this week, I'm bringing the twirling goodness to Salinas, California! You know me, always on the lookout for creative ways to share my love for all things ballet, and #Tututuesday is the perfect way to bring the magic of dance to a new location! Today's tutu adventure took me to the heart of Salinas, a city brimming with energy and, thankfully, a whole lot of love for the art of dance. I wanted to show my appreciation for all the passionate dancers in this area, as well as introduce new people to the beauty and joy of ballet. So, with a tulle-filled heart and a twinkle in my eye, I set out to sprinkle a bit of ballet magic on the town! **Let’s talk about tutus**! Let's be honest, they're the ultimate expression of ballerinas everywhere. And oh, the styles! From classic, romantic to whimsical, to modern, and avant-garde—there’s a tutu out there for every ballerina. In Salinas, I found myself gravitating towards the "romantically inspired" tutu. This look perfectly embodies the spirit of classic ballet with layers of soft tulle and a flowing, graceful silhouette. Here's where my day went, folks! * **Salinas City Center**: I kicked off my #Tututuesday festivities in the heart of Salinas, at the City Center. Surrounded by shops, cafes, and a delightful mix of people, I couldn't resist the opportunity to twirl under the afternoon sun! This was an absolute highlight of the day. You guys, so many people were totally up for it and the spontaneous ballet photo ops were amazing. Some kids even gave me high fives while other passerby cheered and applauded, you know how those classic ballerinas always do! * **The Salinas Public Library:** Where there are kids, there’s a natural love for magic. I know because I’m always amazed by how enthusiastically little ones take to ballet. In the library, it’s like stepping back into a childhood book and there’s just that added bit of inspiration to read! That’s exactly what my little photo shoot set out to do today! * **The Salinas City Hall**: A ballerina can always find an inspiration. You just gotta have the eye to see it and a good twirl! City hall definitely met this benchmark. With the historic structure in the background and a big splash of a bright floral arrangement—my camera didn’t even need an Instagram filter. * **The Salinas Valley Fairgrounds**: When I heard there was an awesome farmers market at the fairgrounds I immediately had visions of tutus and juicy berries! You can bet my photos show me happily twirling with some lovely produce! It was perfect to incorporate both the freshness of the fairgrounds and a pop of vibrant pink from a summer bouquet I grabbed from one of the stands! You can find a ton of amazing places to check out around the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds that perfectly lend themselves to my kind of photo shoots—if I say so myself! Just look around for amazing buildings with great structure or even colorful backdrops. Trust me, you can never have enough tutu pictures!
