Tutu Tuesday in Toledo, Ohio, USA
Hey, dance lovers! It's your girl, Jenna here, back with another edition of #TutuTuesday! This week, I'm bringing the tutus from my hometown of Toledo, Ohio, to the spotlight.
Now, let's talk about Toledo. Yes, the birthplace of the Jeep and the "Glass City," but it also boasts a vibrant dance scene. Toledo is home to some truly talented ballerinas and dancers and I can’t forget the legendary Toledo Ballet!
And what’s more iconic than a tutu? Seriously! The tutu has gone from a stage staple to a fashion must-have, from classic Romantic to playful contemporary styles. It’s truly the perfect way to add some elegant and playful fun to any occasion!
For my #TutuTuesday look, I chose a stunning romantic tulle tutu. With multiple layers, the full skirt just made me feel like a real-life princess, ready to dance the night away. A beautiful shade of powder blue, it was airy, soft and flowed effortlessly. I paired this beautiful tulle with a simple fitted white bodysuit for an effortless contrast, finished the look off with a shimmery blush pink makeup and I felt absolutely beautiful!
You guys, Toledo was a dream for my Tutu Tuesday photo shoot! I found some amazing backdrops to showcase the magic of these tutus.
**Here are a few places I went and why you should check them out! **
- The Toledo Museum of Art. I mean, how can you go wrong? This world-class museum has some incredible architecture and some of the coolest art displays around. And that classic, beautiful ambiance provided the perfect setting for a Tutu Tuesday photoshoot.
- The Promenade Park. Looking for a more natural vibe? This waterfront park is absolutely beautiful, especially during golden hour, giving the light a stunning, ethereal effect on my tutu. The bridge there makes a great backdrop as well.
- The Toledo Zoo. Yes, the zoo! You might be thinking, “Zoo?! Jenna, are you nuts?! ” but hear me out! You’ve got to admit a vibrant, exotic setting can really add an unexpected punch to a tutu. And don't forget the cute animal factor to boot!
To make this a true #TutuTuesday celebration, I got together with some of the most talented ballerinas in Toledo and took some photos! We really brought the spirit of ballet to Toledo and I think we definitely caught everyone's attention!
