Manchester: Tutu Tuesday - A whirlwind of tutus and fabulousness! Okay, so let's be real. It's Tuesday. A mid-week slump, but for us ballerinas (and you lot!), it's the day we've all been waiting for - Tutu Tuesday! This week, the mood was positively electric here in Manchester as tutus were spotted everywhere. From the grand dames at the Royal Exchange Theatre to the babes sipping lattes in the Northern Quarter, this city was wearing its dancing shoes! Now, for a girl who lives, eats, and breathes ballet, let me tell you: There's a tutu for every mood and occasion. It's all about finding your style! You've got your classic, fairytale tulle, swishing around like a ballerina in a vintage film. But let's not forget those sleek and modern masterpieces, clinging to the body in shimmering spandex, or the edgy and urban cuts, pairing up effortlessly with trainers and statement accessories. It's truly an endless dance of possibilities. This #tututuesday, I decided to rock a whimsical, vintage-inspired, full-length tulle number, paired with a sassy leather jacket and ankle boots - A touch of rebel-chic, right?! And guess what? Manchester's tutudom is thriving. The day was a vibrant melting pot of tutu fashion. I saw it all - * The Royal Ballet Tutu - For those who are all about elegance and tradition. A graceful blend of satin and layers of tulle, embodying the grandeur of classic ballet. The ballerina's ultimate statement piece! * The Modern Tutu - These ones scream effortless coolness, embracing edgy lines and contemporary fabrics. You'll see them often in performance at Manchester's Dancehouse. A favourite among dancers seeking a sophisticated, streamlined look. * The DIY Tutu - These little gems are the result of sheer creativity and personal flair. People transforming ordinary skirts and scarves into whimsical tulle delights - so incredibly empowering! I was even impressed by a group of tutu-fied friends making their own 'tutu-walk' parade through the city centre - inspiring! * The Ballet Class Tutu - You can't have a true #tututuesday without them. Seeing all those beautiful dancers in their class tutus is an absolute joy, radiating a dedication and passion that is simply beautiful. It truly feels like there's a tutu-powered renaissance happening! Speaking of inspiration, Manchester’s dance scene is definitely a sight to behold. With legendary venues like the Palace Theatre and The Lowry bursting with creativity, there's a contagious energy radiating throughout the city, encouraging all things theatrical. For my fellow #tututuesday enthusiasts - we've truly got something special brewing here. It's an exciting time to be a dancer in Manchester. And for you fabulous non-ballerinas, step into the world of tulle - there's no better time than now. Who knows, you might just fall in love with the art of tutus. Now go out there and #tututuesday yourself! See you all next Tuesday, Manchester!
