Okay, you guys, Tutu Tuesday in Pompano Beach, Florida was AMAZING! I seriously can’t believe how many people showed up – seriously, I’m talking Tutu Tuesday takeover status! This beach town seriously embraced the #tututuesday spirit!
Before we get into all the details, let’s talk about the outfits! Everyone came out in their most fabulous tutus and I gotta say, it was a sea of tulle, sequins and sparkle – seriously, glitter in my eye-level all day long. And there were SO many styles. We had the classics like the romantic, soft-layered tutus for the graceful types. But we also had the fierce, modern, asymmetrical, and structured ones - perfect for those ballerina vibes, y'know?
We were talking about tutu styles when I met a cute dancer from the Miami City Ballet! Okay, yes, he definitely was eyeing my Tutu - it was a vintage pink, layered beauty from my grandma. I gotta say, Miami City Ballet totally puts ballerinas and ballerinos on the map in this part of the US, no? But let me tell you, there was not one ballerinas/dancers vibe to this Pompano crowd! Tutu Tuesday in Pompano, Florida was way more of an urban cool look with tutu vibes.
I totally got into the vibe by pairing my pink tutu with a super simple tank top and denim jacket, totally channeling an edgy yet delicate look. And you know, some cute ballet flats. A little bit of ballerina chic.
So, what happened in Pompano Beach? Here is the rundown!
- Tutu Walk - It started with the Tutu Walk, basically, everyone, literally EVERYONE, met up at the Pompano Beach Pier, we’re talking, a literal sea of tutus, and all of us did a choreographed dance routine – honestly, I am surprised none of us fell down in the sand! But we didn’t! Seriously, the dancers of Pompano really know how to party!
- Photo Booths- Afterwards, everyone was hitting up the amazing photo booths decked out with tulle and sparkly backgrounds! Every photo I got from there is going straight to my Insta- feed. So much fun!
- Food Trucks Galore- But the best part? The food trucks were unbelievable. Pompano Beach truly took it to another level. We were talking tacos, poke bowls, donuts and more. My bestie told me they had gluten-free pizza. So cool right? It wasn't just all about the tulle! This place knows what’s up! And honestly? It was a great mix for a beach town crowd. It was chic but it didn't make people feel out of place.
- Tutu-themed Games - Speaking of awesome, the Tutu-themed games were super fun. Everyone participated and got into the spirit! One even included balancing a tutu on your head with a little ballet move!
And speaking of super fun, did I mention the live DJ set that totally blew my mind? You gotta know this isn't the typical South Florida "techno" vibe that some of these parties get. It was a cool but modern remix of some classical ballet music. And get this, one DJ even asked everyone to gather and show off some of their ballet moves – let's just say there was a lot of "degage" and "pas de basque" action happening right there! Honestly, I couldn’t stop smiling – the whole energy was so good.
Oh! There was a super cute ballet teacher there who helped people with their poses and moves. Everyone loved it and she looked amazing in her teal, beaded tutu with a stylish leather jacket.
This Pompano Beach #tututuesday event? It totally captured the hearts of all the tuturologists in the community. It was beyond perfect and the energy was unreal! From the beach to the games to the delicious food, it was all the fun and frolic one could ask for, plus some ballerina fun sprinkled in. Everyone's ready for next year!
