Tutu Tuesday in Ankeny, Iowa: #tututuesday

Whatâs there to do in Ankeny?!â Well, let me tell you, folks, this small town is brewing with hidden gemsâand Iâm not just talking about their amazing selection of cornfields. ;)
I recently found myself in Ankeny, Iowa, and it was time for my weekly Tutu Tuesday post! Itâs a tradition for me, you see, to don a tutu every Tuesday. I can't let the fact that I'm away from home stop my dedication to the tradition, so this week, the streets of Ankeny will have to suffice. Honestly though, Ankeny had so many charming little streets. The cutest boutiques lined the main strip. Maybe it's my ballet brain but, with all the cute window displays, I definitely felt a little ballerina in the big city - albeit a very Midwestern ballerina! You see, I believe ballet, especially the tutu, isnât just about twirling on stage; itâs a state of mind. Itâs about feeling confident and elegant no matter where you are, no matter what you're doing! So letâs dive into my Ankeny adventuresâwith a dash of tutu magic, of course!
Now, for todayâs look, I decided to rock my go-to, classic *Romantic Tutu*âthe one that makes me feel like a true princess in a whimsical storybook! Itâs all about soft, flowing layers of tulle in the most delicate shade of baby pink, with the softest hints of sparkly embroidery. I call it âballet with a touch of sparkleâ âalways a winning combination! But since the day started quite warm, I added some street-chic swagger to my ballet-inspired look. The *Romantic Tutu* paired perfectly with a sleek, black crop top, and I threw on my favorite white sneakers, a cross-body purse (that, for sure, was a necessary fashion item for all the boutiques I'd be hitting!), and voila, the classic ballet *Romantic Tutu* felt totally on point, even amidst the heartland charm of Ankeny!
Ankeny was full of beautiful brick buildings and an abundance of flowerbedsâdefinitely adding a beautiful color scheme to my ballet-themed day! But whatâs a fashion-forward ballerinaâs day out without some delicious food? After my walkabout exploring the town's streets, I knew the place to be was [insert the name of a coffee shop, bakery or restaurant]. Their [describe what they sell, e.g., scones] were divine and their [mention the kind of coffee or specialty beverage] was exactly what I needed after a fun morning of window shopping and chasing around my cute puppy! The heartland has a whole new fan in this ballerinaâAnkeny, youâve stolen my heart. (And probably a piece of my homemade [add type of cake, pastry or dessert]. đ) It's a small-town charm like I've never experienced before! I am officially a fan! It is full of friendly faces, beautiful, understated natural scenery and, it goes without saying, excellent shopping! This little city may be unexpected for those who have not yet been fortunate enough to experience Ankenyâs wonders! #AnkenyLoves

- **The Unexpected Joy of Tutu Tuesday!** In case you couldnât tell, I am living for Tutu Tuesday! Every Tuesday is a new adventure with a whole new look to rock the *Romantic Tutu* or any other of my go-to tutus! But the greatest surprise was that Tutu Tuesday made me feel so incredibly at home. No matter how far I wander from my city, tutu Tuesday always feels right at home!
