Tutu Tuesday in San Bernardino, California Hey guys! It's your girl, Blair, back with another #Tututuesday post! I’m thrilled to be back on the blog. As you know, I’m an American Ballet Theatre dancer based in San Bernardino, California, but that doesn't mean I'm all about that rigid, serious ballerinas vibe! Don't get me wrong, I take my training seriously and I am devoted to the beauty and art of classical ballet but I also love to embrace my inner fashionista. Because let’s be honest, when it comes to fashion, ballerinas can wear the most stunning outfits – you just have to know how to mix and match. So this Tuesday, we’re embracing the **#Tututuesday** fun here in sunny San Bernardino! For today’s Tutu Tuesday, I thought we'd chat about my go-to **tutu styles**. When I'm on the dance floor, I have two faves. I just love the sleek, professional look of a **classical Romantic tutu**; it's what I envision ballerinas wearing, especially as a classically trained dancer. My second favourite, though, is a little more free-spirited - it's the **short, gathered, bouncy tutu**, the type that’s perfect for making it on stage in productions like Swan Lake or Don Quixote, when I can feel like a delicate bird taking flight. It has this really fun, flowy look that gives me the ultimate stage presence. But for real life, I like to play around a bit! For my #Tututuesday outfits in San Bernardino, I typically grab something a bit more street-style. It’s got to be practical – after all, this little city ain't all about red carpets, honey! **Here's a few of my favourite ways to wear the Tutu look** * **Tutu Skirt:** Let’s get real – you don’t need to be a dancer to rock a tutu skirt. Grab yourself a sparkly black tulle skirt – think something on the shorter side to really accentuate your legs – pair it with a classic tee and some cute sneakers for a look that screams fun and confidence. * **Tutu Over-Skirt:** You can create the look by adding a tulle over-skirt to a regular outfit. This is super cute for date nights or just an evening out with the girls. A simple bodycon dress with a sparkly tulle over-skirt layered over? OMG! * **Tutu with Denim:** Tutu, denim, and white tees; a perfect example of the versatility of a tulle skirt. Who would have thought, right? But it really works! For this look, I always go for a looser denim shirt that falls effortlessly around the hips to balance the drama of the tutu. Oh, and don’t forget some cool, chic sneakers. * **Tutu Top:** It’s the perfect party starter. I love using a fun, colourful, full tutu to spice up a plain t-shirt or a silky slip. Of course, you can rock a tutu with a little more “dancer" glam. A fabulous tutu paired with a little black dress? Girl, yes! Add some high heels and a statement piece of jewellery to amp up the elegance factor, or a simple pair of sandals if you are going for that laid-back look. The best thing about rocking a tutu in your everyday life? You know you’re turning heads – guaranteed! Who wouldn’t notice a fabulous, sparkly tutu floating past them? When you're dancing around San Bernardino, people always tell me I have an "extra pep in my step". San Bernardino Ballet A quick shout out to our beloved San Bernardino Ballet!
