Tutu Tuesday in Covington, Kentucky #tututuesday

Hey everyone! Itā€™s your girl, Ashley, here, back with another dose of dance fashion. This week, Iā€™m bringing you straight from the heart of Covington, Kentucky. Now, I know what youā€™re thinking: ā€œKentucky? Ballet?ā€ It might sound like an unexpected pairing, but trust me, thereā€™s a vibrant dance community blossoming right here in the Bluegrass State.

Todayā€™s #tututuesday is all about exploring the hidden gem of ballet in Covington, Kentucky. This beautiful historic city, located across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, is quickly becoming a hub for the arts and culture. And the ballet scene is absolutely thriving!

Speaking of tutus, have you ever seen a classic Romantic tutu in a fiery red silk? Thatā€™s what caught my eye at the Northern Kentucky Ballet School. Itā€™s the perfect tutu for those soaring leaps and graceful turns, a vibrant statement piece against the stage lights. And you know I had to capture a picture! I posted it on my Instagram story - make sure to check it out!

It wasnā€™t just the tutus that had me in awe. The passion and dedication I witnessed at the school, from the instructors to the young students, was truly inspiring. The students here are taking class in all styles - classical, contemporary, even a touch of jazz. Their dedication is something I admire, they work hard on those plies and leaps, practicing to perfect their techniques.

And itā€™s not just the tutus themselves - the different styles are an adventure for me as a dancer. At Covingtonā€™s "The Little Ballet" studio, I discovered this amazing, almost Victorian-era inspired tutu that featured beautiful, layered tulle and delicate embroidery. Itā€™s the perfect combination of elegant and whimsical - a tutu for a fairytale story.

After my exploration of tutus and dance studios, it was time for some afternoon tea, Covington style! The quaint cafes and bakeries are the perfect spots to fuel your inner ballerina (or any dance enthusiast). My favorite stop was a charming bakery called "The Pink Flamingo." Letā€™s be honest, every ballet girl needs her dose of sugar!

Here are a few key takeaways from my #tututuesday in Covington, Kentucky: ā€¢ You can never have too many tutus! There are endless possibilities when it comes to styles, from the classic Romantic tutu to modern designs and everything in between. The sheer variety will leave you spoiled for choice, no matter your personality or preference. ā€¢ Dance is alive and well in all corners of the country! Whether itā€™s a major city like New York or a charming town like Covington, thereā€™s a community of dancers and studios waiting to be discovered.
