I'm taking you on a little journey through the whimsical world of tutu fashion, but with a Surprise, Arizona, twist. You see, Surprise, Arizona, is known for its warm climate, wide-open spaces, and of course, its incredible ballet scene. We’re like the little town that could when it comes to supporting the arts, which is why I love spreading the tutu love in my own little way. That’s why I'm all about celebrating Tutu Tuesday! It’s not just about the classic tutus you see at the ballet – think airy chiffon and dreamy tulle – we’re embracing all forms of tulle fashion: from the romantic and ethereal to the fun and playful.

Now, before we get to the tutus, let’s talk a bit about ballet in the USA, because there’s so much to celebrate! So, what does Tutu Tuesday mean to me? Well, for me, it's a chance to share my love of dance, fashion, and of course, those fluffy, fabulous tutus! Every week, I’m showcasing a different way to wear tulle, exploring different colors, styles, and accessories. One week, I might be rocking a classic white tutu with a sleek bomber jacket, for a cool, urban edge, while the next week, I’ll be wearing a blush-toned, layered tutu with delicate jewelry for a romantic look.

Today, we’re keeping things fun, flirty and super comfortable with a nod to the Surprise, Arizona, sunshine!

Outfit Inspiration

• My foundation for the look today is a beautiful powder blue tutu from a local dance shop. I chose it because it reminds me of a cool summer breeze! Its airy, flowing layers move with you, creating a graceful, almost magical effect as I dance and spin around.
• To balance the sweetness of the tutu, I’m rocking a cropped black tank top, and adding a touch of fun with some neon green sneakers, which are perfect for a day of dancing or just running errands. You know what they say, fashion and comfort are never a compromise!
• The pop of color really makes the look stand out. For a fun detail, I’m adding a tiny cactus hair clip as an homage to Surprise’s unique desert charm, reminding us of where I’m celebrating Tutu Tuesday! I’m going to keep it minimal on the accessories and let my beautiful powder blue tutu be the star. The hair clip is perfect to keep my hair away from my face during practice.
• I’m keeping things super breezy, but for a formal touch, I added a white, flowy scarf around my waist to complete my Tutu Tuesday outfit. The touch of whimsy is ideal for our afternoon, in the city that celebrates “a joyful surprise” each day!
• And of course, my finishing touch is a bright smile. Because celebrating Tutu Tuesday is all about embracing joy, whether you're dancing at the studio or just rocking your tutu in the streets. #TutTuesday is truly a celebration of all things ballet-inspired and a way for me to celebrate my love for my artform. I’m using fashion to connect to the wider world.
