This week, we’re taking a peek at the dazzling world of tutus and how they’re shaking up the dance scene right here in the US. From the classic, romantic tutus that float like dreams to the more modern and edgy designs that turn heads, the tutu has been a staple in the world of ballet for centuries. But, believe it or not, tutus are having a moment right now. They're popping up everywhere - from Instagram feeds to the runways to the stage. You see these worn by ballerinas from all levels of the artform, from high-profile performances at The Metropolitan Opera House in NYC to student performances around the world. • **The Classical Tutu:** This is the tutu we all think of when we say the word "ballet," with its fitted bodice and multiple layers of tulle. This tutu, called the "Classical Tutu" is perfect for bringing that traditional ballet look to the stage. • **The Modern Tutu:** Forget frills and feathers - the Modern Tutu is all about simplicity and sharp lines. Minimalistic in nature, these can be made out of layers of sheer tulle to create a smooth flow, or a very small, compact layer of tulle making it very geometric.
