When it comes to Tutu Tuesday, Anderson definitely knows how to show up! The first stop was a hidden gem – "The Sewing Basket". This tiny shop housed an absolute treasure trove of fabric and materials, including a surprising array of tulle – from soft, billowy, dreamy gauze to the stiff and sparkly netting used for those dazzling show-stopping tutus. I had to snag some pale pink, flowing tulle to whip up a romantic, whimsical number. Talk about inspiring!
Unveiling Local Ballet: Anderson’s Thriving Dance Community
To really get a feel for the local ballet scene, I paid a visit to the Anderson Dance Center. The students were an absolute inspiration! Seeing their dedication and passion firsthand reminded me why I love ballet so much. I saw a lot of classic, romantic tutus for the younger dancers – but the advanced class was rehearsing in super chic, contemporary designs. You could tell they loved expressing themselves through dance!
