Tutu Tuesday in Lansing, Michigan: #tututuesday

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another Tutu Tuesday post, this time live from the heart of Michigan, Lansing! Now, I know what you're thinking: Lansing? Ballet? It's not exactly New York City or San Francisco, right? But believe me, ballet in the US is booming, and Lansing has its own vibrant dance scene.

Let's be honest, even if you aren't a dancer, the romance of a tutu just *does* something to you, right? There's something inherently captivating about a flowing skirt made for twirling, even if it's made of layers of tulle. And believe me, the styles of tutus range from the classic, like the **Romantic Tutu** (all about that long, flowing look), to the **modern**, where it's more about movement and silhouette.

Anyway, the point is that tutus aren't just for ballet class. It's all about making the most of them - like today. I'm sporting a **petit** **tutu**, super cute for an everyday look, but I’m rocking it for lunch with some other Lansing dance enthusiasts. The perfect combination of comfort and ballerina chic - that's what Tutu Tuesday is all about.

I know, the **tututu** might feel a little bold if you’re new to the whole ballet look. So for anyone out there wondering about making it a part of your wardrobe, here's the secret. Confidence is key, my darlings. It's about feeling your best. If you want to rock a tutu and do you, then go for it. There's a lot of beauty in challenging fashion norms.

But, it’s also about keeping the #tututuesday community alive and going. I want to talk about what it’s like to dance in this beautiful art form, how you can support dancers in the Lansing community, and how to add a little “ballet” into your own style - because it's about more than the skirt, guys.

Today, my day began with a morning class at the Lansing Ballet Academy. It’s a smaller studio with a lot of heart. They are really developing the ballet culture in Lansing - I could even see some local talent here making it big. It's not all about big studios. You can have real passion and inspiration right here in your backyard!

One of the amazing things about Lansing is their strong sense of community. I spent the afternoon walking around Downtown Lansing. It’s a historic part of town with beautiful architecture and hidden treasures - definitely an amazing spot to find that perfect, vintage piece to create an amazing tutu look!

My afternoon brought me a special treat - a delicious coffee with the lovely Sarah who owns the most amazing vintage dancewear store called "The Tututique". We were bonding over our passion for all things dance - not to mention sharing some pretty fabulous tutu styling tips!

So for you Lansing dancers, The Tututique is the place to go for those incredible tutus for both the stage and for #tututuesday! And don't forget, you can always reach out to me, I’m more than happy to help you on your tutu journey!

Here are a few things I found in Lansing today that helped fuel my love for dance:

  • The **Lansing Ballet Academy**: It's a treasure - their teachers are dedicated and I loved the enthusiasm of all the students.
  • The **Lansing River Trail:** So peaceful for reflection. It’s the perfect spot for thinking about all that ballet means to me!
  • **Old Town Lansing** with it's vibrant streets full of music and life - there’s an unbelievable energy to the whole area! It reminds me so much of the New York scene.

I love that #tututuesday has really created a special online community where dancers like us can celebrate ballet, express themselves creatively, and inspire each other to make a statement.

You don't need to be a professional dancer or live in a big ballet city to love it. So embrace it, live it, rock it! And most importantly, remember that ballet can be about so much more than just a tutu. It's about movement, grace, expression, and finding the beauty in every day.

Until next time, stay graceful and stylish! #tututuesday #ballet #dance #fashion #Lansing
