The tutus really bring a new, delightful, kind of charm to the normally pedestrian street, especially in our little corner of Eltham. Even the shops get into the act – I've seen some adorable window displays, like the little boutique, "Twirl & Curl," with a glorious vintage tutu collection that really got my attention. A Tutu Tuesday highlight for sure! The vintage collection was filled with all sorts of lovely items - beautiful ballet slippers with ribbon ties, long white cotton tutus that just floated like a dream and some amazing costumes with very impressive and rather glamorous embellishments - feathers, sparkly beads and sequins - wow, amazing.
One of the most special things about Tutu Tuesday in Eltham is how it brings us all together. As a blogger, I've really enjoyed connecting with other women who are passionate about ballet and all things tutu-related. On my Tutu Tuesday photo walk, I saw a group of women doing some improvisational "street ballet", a few groups with children enjoying a Tutu Tea Party - a cute and creative little party with tutu decorations and tutu cake pops – very clever and there was even a Tutu Story Time where mothers were reading to their kids with little tutus in their hair. All of this joy was happening under a sky that had decided to be gloriously sunny and blue.
