Cleethorpes: A Tutu Tuesday Treat!
Okay, fellow fashionistas, get ready to twirl! This Tuesday, Cleethorpes was all about the Tutu! I’m talking about **Tutu Tuesday**, the latest craze sweeping the UK, and I, your humble (and tutu-obsessed) blogger, was there to soak up all the pink (and purple, and blue) tulle-tastic action!
Before I spill the tea, let me tell you a little something about **my tutu obsession**. I’ve always loved the elegance and romance of a tutu. Whether it's the classic, knee-length Romantic tutu, a majestic and layered Neoclassical tutu, or a modern and streamlined Contemporary tutu, a tutu is like a blank canvas, waiting to be transformed by your own personal style. And trust me, when it comes to Tutu Tuesday, there’s no shortage of style!
My heart beat a little faster as I strolled down the Cleethorpes promenade. Every other passerby seemed to be sporting a tutu in some way! This is no ordinary Tuesday! It’s a celebration of all things tutu! It’s about finding the perfect tutu to express your personality, embracing your inner ballerina, and adding a little whimsy and elegance to your everyday outfit. And judging by the looks on the faces of everyone around me, it's truly contagious.
So what exactly does one wear for Tutu Tuesday? Well, there’s no right or wrong answer – just creativity! A classic romantic tutu teamed with a simple top and leggings is always chic. Want to go for a more casual vibe? How about a tulle skirt layered over a pair of denim shorts and a t-shirt? Need something bold and bright? Try a fun, frilly tutu in a vibrant colour! Cleethorpes certainly seemed to have gotten the memo! As I walked through the charming streets, I was practically bombarded with tutus in every shape and form: a dad pushing his child in a pram was rocking a miniature tulle tutu strapped around his head. I saw a teenage girl and her bestie in matching tutus, their sparkly tutus radiating like tiny galaxies as they pranced along, while their grandma (in a stunning emerald green tutu) trailed behind them! Then, there were the young couples, holding hands as they swayed through the promenade in synchronized tutus.
A cafe on the pier caught my eye with a "Tutu Tuesdays, Treat Yourself" sign outside! They had the cutest, sweetest looking pastries adorned with tiny little tulle tutus on display, even the ice cream cones were crowned with little mini tutus!
To celebrate **Tutu Tuesday** the seafront was alive with street performers! A small troupe of dancers in elaborate tutus were executing flawless fouettés to the sounds of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Another group of performers in vibrant red tutus, were doing their thing, showing off some serious acrobatic skills with their colorful silks, even the band that set up by the amusement park had the lead vocalist with a little blue tutu sewn on his hat!
By lunchtime, the sun was out, shining brightly and bathing the crowd in its golden light as we all danced the day away, and just as I started to think this was all a wonderfully bonkers dream, I walked by an impromptu photoshoot! Local families gathered for photos to capture their own **Tutu Tuesday** moments! The smiles were genuine, the joy contagious! Cleethorpes is a magical town on a good day but today, **Tutu Tuesday** has injected it with an extra sprinkle of fairy dust.
