G'day from the City of Lights! Well, it's not technically Paris but it's certainly lit up by my fab tutu here in Villeurbanne, a gorgeous little city in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. Today's my favourite day of the week - Tutu Tuesday - so it's time to get a little fancy! And what's better than seeing the incredible French ballet scene right here in Lyon, Villeurbanne's big sister? Let's dive in!
First off, gotta admit, the local ballet scene here in Lyon and Villeurbanne is definitely a cut above! I’m seriously impressed by the standard of the dancing - those French dancers are slick! They’ve got this amazing control, a real passion, and an understanding of the music that just makes my heart sing. Even the young dancers are on fire, it’s inspiring to see such talent bursting on the scene.
So, as I wander around Villeurbanne, checking out the scene for my Tutu Tuesday blog post, it's clear this place has its own distinct vibe. And yes, Villeurbanne is all about the **tutu**! But what kinda **tutus** are we talking about here? It’s a mix, darling! It’s not all classical, like those big frilly **tutus** we see in Swan Lake or Giselle. But here’s where Villeurbanne digs deeper, it has this amazing mix of classical traditions with an edge – a contemporary flair that’s got me totally hooked! And the **tutu** takes center stage in this whole mix.
