Tutu Tuesday in Brest, Bretagne, France! #tututuesday
G'day, lovelies! This week, my Tutu Tuesday adventures took me to the enchanting city of Brest, Bretagne, in France. The cobbled streets and quaint cafes painted a charming backdrop for a tutu-tastic exploration of the region's ballet scene.
This beautiful city, situated on the rugged Breton coast, has a rich artistic heritage and its ballet scene is no exception. Brest's ballet company, known for its technical prowess and contemporary repertoire, is one of the shining stars of the French dance landscape. While it is true, there are some excellent dance schools in this beautiful corner of France and the overall standard of classical technique here is remarkably high.
After all, where better to have a #tututuesday than France? It's home to some of the world's most celebrated ballet companies and world-renowned schools and academies of classical dance. What I've always admired about French ballet is the impeccable technique and graceful fluidity.
This week, for #tututuesday, I'm putting together my tutu wishlist. Of course, every ballerina dreams of a magnificent, floor-length Romantic tutu for that elegant, ethereal look, perfect for swirling in the studio or on stage. The delicate, tulle layers evoke a sense of lightness and flow - it is no wonder these styles are still beloved today.
If I were to indulge myself in my tutu fantasies, I would be drawn to the ethereal charm of a Romantic Tutu for the next ballet season in a pastel, soft hue, perhaps in a soft ballet pink.
But then there's also the contemporary tutu - bold and modern with striking design features like an asymmetric bodice or layered ruffles. These modern pieces often have a contemporary flair and are designed for free movement.
Speaking of contemporary style, French fashion and dance are always intertwined in such a beautifully, sophisticated and elegant manner. For tutu fans looking for a style that's not your average, ballerina look, the iconic French brand ** Chanel** recently made waves in the fashion world with their ballet flats that featured tulle detailing. So that's where I get inspiration, not just from ballet history but contemporary design as well.
Here are some fun tutu-inspired ways to channel the ballerina in you for a special Tutu Tuesday:
  • For the ultimate tutu-inspired look, throw on a whimsical tulle skirt for an effortlessly feminine tutu Tuesday look, wear a flowing chiffon scarf or tutu-inspired jewelry. And a beautiful hair ribbon.
  • Try incorporating some tutu touches in your wardrobe โ€“ a silk scarf around your neck. Maybe a stylish tulle blouse - with a cute denim jacket.
  • Add a splash of colour to your ensemble - a bright pink tote bag or vibrant earrings. Always works.

So, fellow dancers and fashion enthusiasts, embrace your inner ballerina and let your tutu fantasies soar this Tutu Tuesday! Whether you're channeling your inner prima ballerina or simply embracing a touch of tulle in your everyday attire, have a magnificent week! Happy dancing. And let's see those tutus! #tututuesday!
