Tutu Tuesday in Champigny-sur-Marne, Île-de-France, France - #tututuesday

G'day, fellow ballet enthusiasts! It's your favourite Aussie ballerina here, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be bringing you my first-ever #tututuesday post from the charming city of Champigny-sur-Marne in Île-de-France, France! This Parisian suburb has a real joie de vivre, and it's been absolutely inspiring for me, both as a dancer and a fashion enthusiast.

So, as a fashion-conscious ballet dancer who's always up for a bit of a #tututuesday challenge, I've been soaking up the Parisian vibes and checking out the ballet scene here. It's truly incredible to witness how ballet is so interwoven with the French culture and identity. It’s literally everywhere from street performers in the metro, to the renowned Palais Garnier opera house. The French take their ballet seriously, and the quality of their dancers is just top-notch.

But, I must admit, my eye for detail has been going into overdrive in Champigny-sur-Marne. It's such a beautiful mix of traditional French charm and modern flair. It’s got these charming cobblestone streets and grand buildings, but it also has super stylish boutiques with all the latest fashion trends, which have been seriously giving me some #tututuesday ideas. I’m also getting inspiration for the future with the chic modern ballet studios popping up everywhere here.

Talking about inspiration, the first thing that sparked my interest were the local ballet schools. I managed to drop in for a little peak at the Ecole de Danse de Champigny, which offers classes for all ages and levels. The energy in that studio was so inspiring. It was amazing to see these budding dancers honing their skills, embracing all things ballet. Seeing the young kids’ excited faces really brought me back to my own love of ballet. The older students had such amazing talent and technique, and the passion was contagious.

And you know what else is super impressive? The level of dedication here. I met some French ballerinas who were training at such a high level and the technique they have is just insane. We're talking grand jetés that are soaring through the air, fouettés that are just spinning like a dream, and turns that make my head spin.

Of course, it’s not all hard work. After my ballet excursions I’ve also been taking full advantage of Champigny-sur-Marne's amazing fashion scene. This city is all about French style, with its stylish boutiques and even trendier second-hand clothing stores.

But of course, what’s #tututuesday without some tutu talk? This week I've been dreaming about some gorgeous tutu designs. They’re so classic but oh-so chic, blending perfectly with the French aesthetic. Here are a few of my faves:

  • **Romantic Ballerina Tutu:** Imagine the iconic romantic tutu with its beautiful layers of tulle, a true symbol of ballet's elegance.
  • **Modernist tutu:** Think edgy designs that feature daring cut-outs and sharp lines. Perfect for showcasing a contemporary feel and for those who like something a little bit bolder.
  • **Traditional tutus:** Of course, it’s not #tututuesday without paying homage to those classic romantic ballet tutus. These elegant and timeless pieces can be styled for all sorts of events, adding a touch of elegance to everything from galas to simple nights out. I love the soft colours, flowy designs, and how they add that fairytale touch.

As much as I'm loving exploring Parisian ballet, it's definitely not just about the traditional styles. Contemporary dance is booming here and there are amazing dance studios pushing boundaries. It’s so refreshing to see such a dynamic scene in a place with such rich ballet heritage.

Now, if you’re a ballerina in Champigny-sur-Marne, or any fellow Aussie dancer looking to visit France and give ballet a go, you definitely need to add this place to your list. I think you'll be amazed by what this little gem in Île-de-France has to offer. And, of course, don't forget to post your tutu-licious adventures with the #tututuesday hashtag!

Cheers and à bientôt!

Bisous,

Your Aussie Ballerina
