Tutu Tuesday in Cergy-Pontoise, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday Okay, so you guys know I’m a big fan of #tututuesday, right? I mean, who doesn't love a good excuse to throw on a tutu and twirl around? This week, I took the celebration to the streets of Cergy-Pontoise, Île-de-France, France! It was an absolute blast! You know, I love seeing how other cultures embrace ballet, and France, well, they’re passionate about their art! I rocked up at the Cergy-Pontoise ballet school in a gorgeous classic Romantic tutu. It’s all soft layers of tulle with a fitted bodice, and let me tell ya, it made me feel like a proper princess! They loved it at the school - the students were practically bouncing with excitement to have a #tututuesday visitor. I got to chat with some of them about their love for ballet and even had a little dance-off in the studio. After the school visit, I decided to take a stroll around the city. I noticed the locals seemed to embrace all things Parisian chic. Lots of elegant outfits, beautiful boutiques… the whole atmosphere was so elegant! But I think my tulle was a definite eye-catcher! It was pretty obvious I was from down under - lots of smiles, high fives and exclamations of "Wow!" It’s a bit humbling to feel like a spectacle, but in a good way. I also noticed that a few other locals were also rocking their own interpretations of the tutu - a few vintage-inspired tulle skirts, some funky DIY creations. I reckon there’s a strong element of fashion and self-expression that goes with this little number! Here are some of my favourite things about Cergy-Pontoise: * The amazing architecture. They have such unique building designs, like the stunning Notre-Dame de Cergy! * The laid-back atmosphere. It’s got this kind of charming small-town feel to it, despite being pretty sizeable. Everyone’s just vibin’, and everyone loves a chat! * The fantastic food. From local boulangeries to gourmet cafes, this city has your tastebuds covered! And, let’s not forget the French wine - just amazing! As I sat down with a hot chocolate at a cute little cafe, reflecting on the day, it made me think - tutu love is a global language, you know? Even without being able to speak French, I could connect with the locals just by putting on my tulle and swirling around! #tututuesday in France - it’s a thing!
